Exactly - phones used to last! I also dropped my w810i a few times but it never broke. Great little phone. In fact I’m gonna charge mine to have a play on it. I think it had an MP3 player too!
I’d say it was a “smart phone” and not a “smartphone”. It, and other Symbian phones like it, existed before the iPhone came out and made touchscreen smart phones a thing. Basically a PDA + Phone.
Even Samsung had a colour touchscreen before iPhone but no one saw it as the first “smartphone”. The iPhone was the ‘first’ true smartphone though you could argue several others before it were smartphones. But I’d class them as “smart phones”.
I bought the official soundtrack and listened to it on my MiniDisc every morning on the way to college! Pumped me up ready for the days battle against vampires (and maths) :D
I get excited by hills but it’s because they remind me of home. Out of my window was a deep valley with a huge hill and just watching the seasons pass each year was a joy. The spring lambing season when the sheep covered the hills to the winter with snow covering them and you’d know it was time to fetch the sledge!
Moved to Lincolnshire in my mid teens and it bored the absolute fuck out of me. Fields of rapeseed in all directions as far as the eye could see. Relentless wind that had no hills to block it so it never changed direction.
I found it easier biking with a BMX on hills than I did using a mountain bike in windy flat conditions.
I too, was fucked by a trumped up charge. Perma-banned by IP so any new account I setup without a VPN gets banned.
My main account (16yo, “Charter Member”) got a subreddit ban. It was reversed a few weeks later by a mod. Then the original mod re-banned me and said “no ban evasion allowed”. Then Reddit banned me for evading a ban.
I didn’t evade anything. I was allowed to post during a short period!
Appreciate it but I’ve always found “lifting heavy” sssssoooooooooo fecking boring!!! I’d sooner do 30-60mins of intense Ashtanga yoga, a JJ class or even a quick run. The thought of lifting heavy objects puts me to sleep.
I used to own a load of weights and a rack. I spent hundreds on a home gym but after 6 months I wanted to murder everyone and myself! It was SO frustrating. I dunno how people do it cos it just isn’t for me. I’m getting on a bit (40) so I defo need to do something to keep myself active. I may go back to yoga. Ashtanga has lots of static bodyweight holds & lifts so it’s not just stretching.
