cm0002,

We’re working on it, but the mf was on something, have you seen the digestive system class? Or the central nervous system class?

cm0002,

The GitHub human branch maintainer peaced out forever ago, all attempts to establish communications aren’t going so well and the issue tracker is piling up…so probably never

cm0002,

Are you using the actual official remote app? It looks different from mine and doesn’t have the “featured” tab shown

cm0002,

Consumer Windows is an afterthought most of the time.

Always has been

Windows is an enterprise OS with consumer features and macOS is a consumer OS with enterprise features.

cm0002,

The hardware doesn’t matter too much these days

WiFi, Bluetooth and Nvidia graphics have entered the chat

cm0002,

I think we were actually on track for it until Reagan happened…so if any of you happen to have a time machine…

cm0002,

Confuse AI? Fuck, I’m confused…wait…OMG…am I AI!!!

cm0002,

I don’t think so, or at least is state dependent, I definitely had medical debt and it was definitely discharged along with all the other debt I had

cm0002,

Linux: “This incident will be reported”

cm0002,

Iirc the entire app is open-source, you can prob strip out the subscription parts and build it yourself

The original work/PoC they based it off of is PyPush and that definitely has a GitHub here: github.com/JJTech0130/pypush

If you can’t/don’t do the work, you’ll have to wait, something will come along eventually but that app just came out the other day

cm0002,

Ohhhhh, I thought it was about Godot, the C# game engine

cm0002,

Just give me all the bacon and eggs olives you have. Wait, wait. I’m worried what you just heard was, “Give me a lot of bacon and eggs olives.” What I said was, “Give me all the bacon and eggs olives you have”. Do you understand?

cm0002,

Does nobody who says this remember their days in highschool?

Let’s say a bedtime of 9

School gets out at 3

Allot about 2 hours for homework, it’s now 5

Allot an hour for dinner, it’s 6

Congratulations! A kid has a whopping 3 hours of free time per weekday to enjoy the last few years of childhood. These are even relatively conservative numbers, HW could easily stretch into 3-4+ hours with an AP class or a particularly HW heavy teacher leaving a whole hour of free time! How wonderful.

Oops wait, a strict parent(s) now adds an additional hour for household chores, ah well so much for free time.

cm0002,

…how? The only acceptable one (Even though I personally don’t like it) is cash.

Fax sucks ass and should have been put in the grave LONG ago, Flash drives are superior to Floppy in every way and fuck paper filing, digitized paperwork is far superior.

cm0002,

I seem to see this “powered by Admiral” popup on lots of other websites.

Whatever this Admiral company tech is, it’s the only one that’s been able to detect my Ad blocking in a long time, has anyone been able to defeat it yet?

cm0002,

It’s aeropress, did you even read the wiki???

cm0002, (edited )

Yea, there’s a lot of (well deserved) shitting on Windows, but it’s backwards compatibility is second to none. Not even Linux can give you a >70% chance that a piece of software or game you need/want from 1995 will still run (provided it’s not 16bit only or needs a proprietary driver lmao) on a modern version of the OS

Months ago I wanted to run a lot of my old childhood games (mostly between 94 and 2001 release dates) for my own kids and I found most of them still installed and ran right out of the box on fully updated Win10, a lot of the rest required some fiddling with compatibility settings and the rest just didn’t work because they were 16 bit only (You can still get them working natively if you install 32 bit Win10, but subjecting children to <4gb RAM is abuse) or some other weird issue so I fell back to ScummVM/DosBox for those

cm0002,

I’ve seriously looked into picking one of these dead languages up and honestly, it’s not worth it.

Biggest issue is, you have to be experienced to some degree before you get the name your price levels. So you’ll have to take regular ol average programmer pay (at best) for a language that’s a nightmare in 2023. Your sanity is at heavy risk.

I’d honestly rather bash my head with assembly, it’s still very much in use these days in a modern way. Most programs still get compiled into it anyway (Albeit to a far more complicated instruction set than in the past) and can still land some well paid positions for not a whole lot of experience (relatively)

cm0002,

Ah so PIC is what put Picard over the top of O’Brien. So clearly we need a Star Trek: O’Brien series so he can be back on top lmao

cm0002,

It’s like dishware being not dishwasher safe

Sometimes they didn’t want to pay for the testing and don’t want to be liable (Probably cheap product) sometimes they didn’t want to spend the extra 0.05¢/item to apply the proper coating/dyes/machine resistant features (Cheap product)

The rest of the time, it’s truly because of “specialized” material, like wool.

If you’re looking to buy clothing, it’s best if you simply didn’t buy anything that is “Handwash Only” (Unless it’s something like wool).

If everybody checked and avoided buying “Handwash Only” clothing AND dishware, they would disappear off the market rather quickly (With the exception of special materials that truly can’t be made machine-safe)

cm0002,

We’ve only ever heard the story from one side, Satan is probably actually super chill and just wants to party

cm0002,

Instantly recognized the pic lol I wonder if RL is still making new ones?

cm0002,

Hmmm some of those people deserved it and more, like Amy’s Baking Company

And most of the time, it’s directed to owners/head chefs and rarely the regular staff. Unless they were doing something seriously bad
