The worst I did, a computer without turning it on and not being updated for 2 years. Long long ago. I think I even got a huge change, don’t remember if it was a big kernel version or the change to systemd. It basically just worked and there was a single thing I had to do that was in the news page.
A big aspect is fractional scaling needs. I have tried the current kde 5 wayland version everytime a new minor release is done and it’s very bad with inconsistencies in many places and weird font rendering and stuff like that. I’m very eager waiting for kde 6 where many of the bugs are supposedly fixed.
I recently wanted to run tegaki, and my experience is pretty much summed up by the meme. I consider myself fairly tech-savvy, but I just couldn’t figure out how to compile it. So I just gave up, downloaded the .exe and put it into a fresh wine prefix. After installing CJK fonts, everything ran fine. Now I’m trying to get...

I would laugh if it wasn’t so bad that it makes you wanna cry. At least I’m lucky since this is the american perspective where all those services exist. Here in europe opening 90% of those streaming services webpages just says that the service is not available in my region. Some of them with new branding or different branding are not even available like max which is still hbo max here which changed recently enough.
I only know a few of the services names because I spent a few hours today before on wiki pages searching for legal tv apps and came across all the insanity. I only knew common names like hulu and roku which are things that don’t work here anyway. Ended up installing pluto tv again to experiment but then had to fight turning on vpn properly to counties where it actually is available. And all the countries have different channels and contents anyway.
It’s all insanity and horrible and sailing the high seas is honestly the only true no pain experience.
Stopped using netflix when they went after the accounts sharing. Only have hbo max and prime apps installed because my ISP bundled the subscriptions. But I never open them to watch anything anyway. Totally useless services.
This single fact that I learned a few months ago, finally makes many things in the movie make sense since the whole thing about being able to manipulate the simulation by being aware of it and how programs can “be installed” in the meat machine.
Rewatched the 3 movies the other week actively thinking about this and yeah it helps a lot.
The true test is searching anything related to android and not get flooded by hundreds of links to auto generates blog content and useless bot created pages.
I had a whole semester where classes where all in the morning (there was no choice until I had failed on the following years) and that whole semester I didn’t go to any classes. Great times sleeping.
All reasonable and logical things. But someone bullied accumulates permanent damage for rest of their lives. A bully should expect full repercussions to the max. I sure wished a bunch of them would get run over by cars of broken some legs. They deserve it.
If they believe someone is a criminal already then just escalate things and appear in their houses in the middle of the night while they are sleeping. Worse than a bully only supportive parents. They all deserve the same treatment.
Completely agree. I keep trying to open a new session on a clean new user regularly to check if it works and it is absolutely horrible. 3 days ago after updating the system and seeing some new latest kde versions coming in, tried again and noped the out of it in a few minutes. The fonts and scalling in so many places are very bad.
I keep reading about great improvements in the 6 version and am really hopeful for it to be usable.
Or the problem is just that no developers have normal regular laptops that are 14’’ at 1080p and can’t imagine that proper scaling at 125% and 150% needs to work out of the box.
Edit: I don’t even have nvidia hardware, it’s just regular intel stuff. Can’t imagine the struggle of nvidia folks.
There were lots of variables to ensure a good cd was burned correctly. Quality of the burner, the quality of cds (from having used hundreds of them, they really had varying qualities) and a big one was the speed of the burn. Lot’s of cds did not work for me when the burning speed was too high, for a good one to happen it had to be done in low speed. Also software to burn them sometimes fucked things up, I remember a time when Nero was destroying a bunch of my cds.
And then the copy protections of some influenced many copies, some made it very difficult. But at least we had cracks and all the warez around. Good times.
