dingus,

I’m not at all excusing it, but don’t prisoners technically get paid for their work? It’s just some horrifically pathetic wage like $0.50/hr or something like that.

dingus,

I mean, wireless charging is a thing nowadays

dingus,

Smartboards are much smaller than most room-sized whiteboards and are infinitely more expensive. Smartboards have certain use cases, but in many situations they don’t make sense.

dingus,

? What do you use instead of a whiteboard?

dingus,

Oh for sure, but I think it’s a really very incredibly important distinction

dingus,

People say this shit all the time. “Reddit is social media too dura hurr.”

But anonymous social media sites are an entirely different entity and wildly different experience compared to ones that use your actual name.

dingus,

I dunno. The last time I bought pickles, I was shocked at how expensive they were.

dingus,

One time I failed one of these like 5 times in a row. I was so infuriated. Maybe I really am a robot.

dingus,

In the internet age, it’s incredibly easy to look up personal information about people like their address. Sorry, but you likely are easily searchable just like the rest of us.

dingus,

Aww I bet you are a fantastic mom. Keep doing you and I’m wishing all the best for you and your family.

dingus,

The real sad guy is me watching the entire thing and wishing I had 1 minute 48 seconds of my life back.

Is there a forum for people who are lonely and sad but specifically not incel sickos?

like you know you’re a good person at heart but life circumstances and trauma and bullying and etc prevented you from learning the proper social skills to find companionship. not necessarily a forum to actually find friends (i find going into things with that intention feels fake and weird), but rather a forum to commiserate...

dingus,

I feel you, man. I had never been able to make connections in my entire life and so I always sought it out online.

A decade or so ago I was hitting up forums to interact with others. Now, I use Discord. A word of warning…Discord is primarily filled with young teens, which can feel a bit awkward and creepy if you’re an adult. And I just don’t relate to problems that teens do anymore like school and the like.

I specifically search for communities like 18+, 21+, 25+, etc. servers so I can relate to everyone more and feel more comfortable. There are some websites out there that provide listings of public Discord servers. So I generally google around until I find ones that look interesting and try them out. You might have to join quite a few until there is one that suits you, but I’d recommend it.

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

dingus,

I have been having some mental health issues, and I was reading about this the other day. I was going through wikipedia with the various types of antidepressants, and it seems that SSRIs are just barely better than placebo, or even in studies not even better than placebo.

I know there are multiple classes of antidepressants out there. Are there any that do a better job, even if they are not as common?

dingus,

So then what does one do to heal it?

dingus,

What sort of problems did you have with it?

dingus, (edited )

As a former Midwesterner (grew up there and lived there for 26 years), I never got used to the cold so I eventually moved South.

But turns out now I get cold at anything below 70F lol.

dingus,

Birds aren’t even real!

I have a coworker who if I had met her online, I probably wouldn’t have gotten along with her. We have such completely polar opposite and radically different viewpoints and philosophies in life. We are exact polar opposites in things like political ideologies, religious notions, moral conventions, philosophical views on life, the state of the world, new technology, etc.

But despite our radical differences, she is among the people who I care most about on this planet. If I met her in some sort of internet debate, I would hate her and she would hate me. But in person, when you slowly get to know people over time, it’s different. You realize that they are human just like you are. You both just want to survive on this planet and make your own way. You both have struggles. You both just want to joke and get along with one another.

How to pull rocks out of pipe in the ground?

My mom has a hole in the ground that she puts her clothes drying hanger in. Like this. The hole in the ground is a 2" or so pipe, set in concrete. The pipe has filled with gravel. Anyone have a tip on getting the rocks out? I can only get so many out using my fingers and then trying to use a set of chopsticks.

dingus,

Curious…why do you need to remove the rocks from the pipe?

dingus, (edited )

Yeah, it’s a lot more common than you’d think. My mom’s dog is like that as well. Been quite a few embarrassing times unfortunately.

dingus,

Kanye had some real bangers early in his career. I still listen to them and have them in my playlist.

dingus,

I always wondered how shit like this worked. My mom’s uostairs neighbors are of normal size, but they stomp around like they each weigh 600 lbs. I don’t get it.

dingus,

Sometimes I call him Rocky and sometimes I call him Robot Slave

dingus,

Do you have a lot of carpet? Tbh they seem to work best if you have non carpeted floors. Also, there are a zillion robot vacuums out there and the lowest pricing tier sucks major ass unfortunately. If you’re not looking to spend at least $250, anything below that isntrash and absolutely not worth owning at all.
