explodicle,

Did you have a PC in 2010?

explodicle,

Since we get all the information we have now: the correct answer was Bitcoin Armory. You’d have a dedicated computer just for signing transactions, carried back and forth over flash drives.

explodicle,

It doesn’t specify stores

explodicle,

I’d just use Piped and adblock to control which ones I actually absorb.

explodicle,

I assume you’re saying just go around on the left, because you’re driving slow in the middle lane. Correct?

explodicle,

Those things look tiny! I don’t know where the idea is going in the first place, and I need lots of space for bad ideas and wrong turns.

explodicle,

Everybody here: “lol he means those other assholes”

explodicle,

Where I live, the police only do something about it if they’ve been called multiple times and are annoyed. Which just encourages people to report it immediately instead of when they actually need the noise to stop.

explodicle,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PartyVotes-Presidents.png, with the generous assumption that the threat of party replacement hasn’t influenced policy positions whatsoever.

So in today’s elections, one might point to Democrats who are increasingly opposed to FPTP.

explodicle,

That’s implying that capitalism is the source of this problem, not every problem. Consider what they’re saying.

explodicle,

Who said it’s the source of every problem?

explodicle,

I think of it as a step between a Google search and bothering actual people by asking for help.

I just deleted my entire library and redownloaded it.

A lot of my files were shitty 480p versions of movies from the Napster days. Now they’re all 1080p, with a few 720p exceptions (mainly tv series episodes). All in all 500 something files in total. Now just watching uTorrent slowly download them all. Hopefully my VPN keeps the eyes off of me…

explodicle,

Do you always rip it at max quality, indefinitely keep the physical copy, or repurchase it years later when you want higher quality?

explodicle,

Assuming what I think you’re assuming, now I want to hear this story of pig assassination.

explodicle,

So why doesn’t the “offending” server just ban them itself?

explodicle,

They asked a fair question. And economics was more a branch of philosophy than a science at that time.

explodicle,

Why do you believe that killing (or whatever we call it) a slaver is either a crime against humanity or a war crime?

explodicle,

But without the monopoly on killing slavers and child abusers.

explodicle,

Here in the USA it’s how they get the poor to pay back the natives, instead of taxing the wealthy heirs of stolen land.

explodicle,

Bitcoin doesn’t make it OK to get paid just for owning something, it’s just less capitalist than dollars. Miner profits tend towards zero with difficulty adjustment, and Bitcoin doesn’t pay to stake holders at all.

explodicle,

I think in this case the distinction between getting a reward and getting paid is important. Bitcoin just appreciates in value with the rest of the economy - you don’t get paid a higher percentage of all bitcoins from saving them - like you do from staking, or holding dollar bonds.

My criticism here is against capitalism, not against Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s best feature is that it minimizes profits, and inequality caused by the Cantillon effect.

explodicle,

You’re right, I wish they had done the opposite.

explodicle,

How did they try it if Israel never agreed?
