Framework seems nice but only 4 ports is a huge deal breaker.

lud,

Most browser games are quite simple and aren’t running on a remote server.

lud,

Yeah, flashpoint is great.

I like duckdns for DDNS

It’s completely free.

lud,

Why does it matter if an apple is modified or not?

Modifying plants for better yields, less water usage, higher resistance to pests, better taste, and so on. Seems like a great idea in my mind.

Either way this comic is bad. It’s stupidly easy to just plant an apple tree in your back/front yard, if you have one. Apples aren’t that picky about where they want to be planted.

They should have gone for a better analogy if they are trying to say something.

lud,

How did redditors treat him? I was subscribed to the sub and I have no idea who db0 is. I recently learned that db0 owns the lemmy.dbzer0.com instance but I don’t know anything beyond that.

lud, (edited )

So what?

He was a mod and then he wasn’t. Why does it matter? Whas he a very active and liked mod or something? And reddit did that not redditors.

lud,

Then how was it the “Redditors” fault?

lud,

What are the odds that OP is emailing from an email that’s not configured correctly? Very low.

lud,

Not really since Microsoft, Yahoo (I guess), and Google dominate the email space really hard.

lud,

I feel like the blue pill is more likely to save you. Especially in countries with bad healthcare.

lud,

I really don’t feel there is a need for more money. 100 million is a fuck ton of money.

lud,

Sorry, I was thinking in my converted currency.

10 million USD is still a LOT of money.

lud, (edited )

Bizarre to not have any gates.

Or a fucking bridge/tunnel, lol.

Edit: or even electrified rail 😂

The majority of Europe uses two types of outlets and plugs. One bigger that’s usually grounded and bulkier and one smaller. The smaller one is always ungrounded and is compatible with either outlet.

The french bulkier outlets are also slightly different that what is common elsewhere. Their ground connection is a prong in the outlet while the rest of Europe has two clip things in the outlets. Most modern plugs accept both outlets though.

Sometimes the smaller outlet isn’t actually smaller..

The bulkier European plugs and outlets are very safe. It’s impossible to short the pins during insertion and they never go out from the outlet without you intending for it to do so.

lud,

Ah yup! The French one is exactly what I was thinking of. I didn’t realize that there are different outlets in different EU countries. That’s gotta be annoying when traveling.

I honestly don’t travel too much but I don’t imagine it would be a big deal.

Pretty much all phone chargers use the smaller version plug that fits in almost all outlets in Europe.

And the modern bulkier plugs usually have both a hole in the buttom to fit french outlets and the clip things to fit other European outlets.

lud,

Have you tried the proxmox exporter? I have tried it briefly for a grafana lab and it seemed pretty good.

lud,

Why do you think that sex workers can’t enjoy their job?

lud,

That isn’t something the creator adds. It’s done by the community.

lud,

The signs work because people are scared of speeding cameras.

If you put up signs everywhere without backing them up with cameras people will obviously ignore them.

The cameras are doing the real work, the signs are just for people new to the area.

lud,

Speed cameras do work though. Here they are often used in specific places where people are driving too fast, especially if near schools and other places where it’s extra dangerous.

For example close to where I live there is a steep hill with a road that goes straight down and after there is a completely straight road and then a really small bridge with a bump.

Some people like to speed down the hill and basically “jump” the bridge bump. Fortunately a speed camera was installed at the bridge and they warn about it well in advance.

While you could technically redesign the road, it would be very costly compared to a camera and that road is a very small road with low traffic and private farmland (or grazing land, I don’t remember) on both sides.

Here the cameras aren’t even activated all the time just enough to achieve their goal of reducing traffic.

lud,

Agreed. They are also only activated when the radar has actually detected something.
