Iirc sunshine still need nvfbc to grab the rendered frames.
Use NVIDIA Frame Buffer Capture to capture direct to GPU memory. This is usually the fastest method for NVIDIA cards. For GeForce cards it will only work with drivers patched with nvidia-patch or nvlax.
I’m considering adding an SSO process in front of my self-hosted apps such as Nextcloud, Calibre-Web and Immich. The thing I’m thinking about, is do I need to make two accounts for each user I want to add? If I have a new user, do I need to make an account for both the SSO provider and the protected app such as Nextcloud? Or...
Now you seems to get MySQL permission issue (or wrong database password, but your issue is probably not that). When using docker compose, MySQL won’t see access coming from linguacafe’s container as coming from localhost, but instead it’s coming from a different IP address inside docker subnet. So make sure your MySQL user has proper privilege, e.g. by granting all permissions to ‘user’@‘%’.
What’s the reasoning behind not having a “system tray” in GNOME? You need to install an extension for that, and that is a weird process for newcomers/beginners....
I think you’re supposed to use the new notification panel now, which kinda works like those in android and ios, but it’ll take a while until 3rd party apps supporting them.
Can you recommend a Bluetooth dongle that support s version 5.3, not too terribly expensive and available in Europe? Preferably works out of the box on Ubuntu LTS, but compiling my own kernel is also acceptable....
I’m pretty sure you can use aptx codecs using a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle and pipewire/bluez5. Just be aware when using them for gaming, if the game is cpu-bound and starved the system out of CPU time, the bluetooth audio might start to stutter. A Bluetooth audio dongle never stutter because they have their own independent Bluetooth stack, but they’re about 10x more expensive than a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle (~$50) and can only be used for audio only.
I have to disagree here. Everyone is not the same and many people are not comfortable watching porns with other people, or even alone by themselves (e.g. abuse victims, etc). My point is there should be an option to avoid watching those scenes, which is increasingly not the case here because new shows includes them as if there is a “has borderline porn sex scenes” checkbox that must be ticked off in Netflix production department before new shows got greenlighted. Trying to not watching shows with those scenes means not watching most recently produced shows at all.
Action scenes and sex scenes are just not comparable. Watching action scenes usually don’t make people want to punch other people. On the other hand, watching porns makes either make people horny or uncomfortable depending on their situation. Also, you can easily avoid action scenes by not watching action shows. On the other hand, sex scenes has creep into all genres these days. Watching an alien movies? Boom, sudden sex scenes. Watching a docudrama? Boom, also sudden sex scenes. I’m not complaining if it weren’t for filtering out shows with sex tags basically filter out most shows made in recent years.
The one that bother me the most about Wayland is the future of *BSD desktop. Can you run Wayland on NetBSD/FreeBSD yet? Also, currently you can run x server on Mac so you can run X11 apps remotely for example. Is there any attempt to make waypipe work on MacOS?
It’s still require DoH, right? Not sure what my ISP does, but DoH has very high latency and often timeout on my end, probably to discourage their customers to turn on DoH.
Hmm, kinda doubt it’s the DoH provider’s fault (cloudflare). On the other hand, my ISP already transparently redirecting plain DNS requests to their own DNS server, so it’s not a stretch to think they found a way to degrade DoH experience (at least for well known endpoint like 1.1.1.1).
