I moved to another region in my home country for college. It’s not a very big country, but people literally speak a different language between regions. Then a couple of years ago, I moved to the US. I’m doing good so far. I moved through my job, so the state I ended up in wasn’t exactly my first choice, but beggars can’t be choosers right? My accent is pretty neutral, you can tell I’m not a native speaker, but most people can’t tell where I’m from by my accent either. If you ask someone from my home country, they would consider me as having an “american accent”.
I compartmentalize. Focus on things at a smaller scale, and work through them one by one. Try not to distract yourself too much on the things that are out of your control. Prioritize the ones that you can actually control. Then identify the short term and long term ones and further prioritize based on that.
Try southeast asia. Lower cost of living and can get by with english. As others have said, you can’t just go apply for citizenship. You’ll have to become a permanent resident first, and you need to work and live there for a while to do that.
Obviously, uBlock Origin. Others are multi-account containers, facebook container, privacy badger, bitwarden (if you use it as a password manager), and keepa (if you shop on amazon).
I’m just happy we didn’t lose power or water. Had to cancel some appointments because I didn’t want to risk driving even though there was barely any precipitation (therefore ice). Now I hope my car starts when I go out later.
I was a bit bummed when I heard Godzilla was on screen for less than 10 minutes, but the reviews and ratings have convinced me to probably go watch it in theaters!
Edit: I just booked last minute tickets for the last show tonight (in 1.5 hours) lol. I’ll be busy tomorrow and I don’t want to go on a weekend, so might as well go now.
Edit 2: Just got back from the theater. The two best things about this film are:
Atomic breath / heat ray. Even the latest hollywood godzilla’s version of atomic breath is nothing compared to this one. Amazing.
The score. The eerie orchestral swells fit so well with the circumstances of the time period when the film takes place. I’ll definitely listen to the score again if they release it officially.
I’d say it’s worth it to watch in theaters. It’s not perfect, but all scenes with godzilla more than make up for whatever flaws the rest of the film has.
