scytale, to asklemmy in Liftoff alternative

Thunder is the closest IMO. I actually use Liftoff as a backup to Thunder as my main app, because they kinda feel similar.

scytale, to lemmyshitpost in Might hurt, but it's worth a shot

They could’ve used the pain box so people can “put their hand in the box”, but they really had to go with shai-huludussy.

scytale, to linux in openSUSE Tumbleweed Monthly Update - January

Haven’t tried openSUSE Tumbleweed yet but I heard it’s a great stable rolling release distro. I might give it a try. How’s the package manager?

scytale, to asklemmy in How do I stop a crush from developing further?

I mean, you can find a new dance instructor.

scytale, to asklemmy in Framework vs Macbook laptop?

Just a note that virtualization is not available on Apple silicon (M1+) yet, so if you plan on running VMs like Kali, it won’t be possible.

scytale, to asklemmy in Migrant lemmurs. Who are you?

I moved to another region in my home country for college. It’s not a very big country, but people literally speak a different language between regions. Then a couple of years ago, I moved to the US. I’m doing good so far. I moved through my job, so the state I ended up in wasn’t exactly my first choice, but beggars can’t be choosers right? My accent is pretty neutral, you can tell I’m not a native speaker, but most people can’t tell where I’m from by my accent either. If you ask someone from my home country, they would consider me as having an “american accent”.

scytale, (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in Wonderful new tech

Door handles, especially on bathrooms, are disgusting. If possible, I push it with my feet (at the bottom of the door, not like in the picture).

scytale, to asklemmy in How do you cope with the state of the world today?

I compartmentalize. Focus on things at a smaller scale, and work through them one by one. Try not to distract yourself too much on the things that are out of your control. Prioritize the ones that you can actually control. Then identify the short term and long term ones and further prioritize based on that.

scytale, to asklemmy in What free things online should everyone take advantage of?

If you’re in the US, you can sign up for Informed Delivery with USPS so you know when to expect incoming important mail. This can help if mail theft is common in your area.

scytale, to asklemmy in Which carbonated soft drink is the best?

Sugar-free Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

scytale, to lemmyshitpost in Chicken soup

Mandarin.

scytale, to memes in Did I put that back or not?

I got a new car that automatically unlocks when you pull on the door handle with the fob nearby. It’s so hard to not pull on the handles after locking to check. I’ve had the locks fail on me once on an older car so I’m always paranoid.

scytale, to asklemmy in Countries that let anyone in?

Try southeast asia. Lower cost of living and can get by with english. As others have said, you can’t just go apply for citizenship. You’ll have to become a permanent resident first, and you need to work and live there for a while to do that.

scytale, to asklemmy in What are some must have Firefox plugins?

Obviously, uBlock Origin. Others are multi-account containers, facebook container, privacy badger, bitwarden (if you use it as a password manager), and keepa (if you shop on amazon).
