The Narrator says that mind flayer near Ragzlin isn’t your captor.

This mind flayer’s build is smaller, its garb plainer - a fearsome creature even in death, but not the one that tormented you.

Then the first time Ragzlin asks who killed it it shows you this memory:

You see a clawed hand open a holding pod - devoid of flesh, only darkness.

Then Dror asks a second time and the mind flayer responds with this memory:

You see a clawed hand open the holding pod. The murk clears to reveal a face. Yours.

So we don’t have clawed hands first off. And we never opened a holding pod except Shadowheart’s. So is the illithid making it up? Did Orin (or another doppleganger) pretend to be us? Those are my two guesses at what’s happening.

Oh I’m aware. I was saying he is the only Vulcan I could realistically take in a fight. Because he’s old and sickly. And who wouldn’t want to pon farr TPring?

Fun fact: the sister in that commercial is played by the daughter of Star Trek character actor Jeffrey Combs.

Honor Mode Miss Chance Apophenia

I have growing doubts of the statistical randomness of attacks in honor mode with karmic dice disabled. I’m talking about multi-attack with action surge completely whiffing when the chance to hit is 75% or greater and rogues with advantage that couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn. (1/4)^2 is 6.25% so across hundreds of...

Rule is Knowledge equals profit. Are you reading some pirated copy of the rules?

If you’re that opposed to earning something and feeling like you earned it you can just exit the game through a hard close (alt-f4 or going to home screen and force closing the app on console) as that doesn’t save to the save file. But then you’ll feel like a dirty rotten cheater every time you look at your shiny dice. So you do you.

I’m at the goblin camp in my playthrough but I had to go run an errand. I’ll update here once I down Min, Ragz, and Gut. Glad I didn’t go to the cave first which is my usual go-to.

Edit: Nothing different that I noticed with the three goblin bosses. They all went down pretty quick. Minthara did down two of my guys though which had me sweating.

There is so much in this game you’ll continue to find stuff even on a 5th or 10th playthrough. I’ve played through it about 10 times now and I still find stuff.

Lore-friendly playstyle/itemization for Shadowheart? (Acts 1 & 2)

The Shar-worshipping crazy goth chick is a great character concept. Trouble is, the game seems to throw a lot of great light-related cleric spells and equipment at us, and all the alternatives seem to be bad. From an RP point of view, Shadowheart obviously shouldn’t be wielding a light-emitting mace, wearing radiance armor,...

Respec her into tempest domain. Then channel your inner Palpatine as you zap people after sending a bit of rain their way.

Send extra people to the corridor that is flooding since you will have extra NPC enemies pop up there.

This is not a good strat for that part. Send your longest distance runner down there on turn one. Make sure they have a bow. Free the chair lady first and shoot the lever to free the other. Then go to the door and wait just outside. Once those two get past the door you can just close the door using the outside door lever and you don’t have to deal with those Sahuagin at all. They can’t get through the door. You only have to spend one turn and one person in there. Those sahuagin are menaces on tactician which is why I just lock them up.

I’ll be thinking on it. By the time I have it we’ll probably be onto Klingon acid punk memes.

This is what happens when you let the Min/Maxxed Warlock be the Face. High Cha; Low Wis and Int.
