volvoxvsmarla,

So to paraphrase, the raging person in the middle is right? I’ll take your answer no questions asked.

volvoxvsmarla,

Yeah same. I would love to avoid so much pain and suffering I went through, so much wasted time and bad decisions, but I would not risk it if I didn’t end up with my spouse and child. So, blue pill all the way. Also, 10 mil would actually solve 95% of all our problems to be honest.

volvoxvsmarla,

I had a severe alcohol problem but I hid it quite well, high functioning (most of the time, the other time I was hiding behind things like depression, anxiety, burnouts,…). So I got so much alcohol and alcohol related gifts as presents always. Then I finally started to cut down on drinking until I eventually stopped. But since no one really knew why I did that, they continued with the gifts. Even when I was pregnant and had a baby, I wasn’t invited to drink but it was assumed I would pick it up again soon, so… More alcohol.

I just moved and my new landlord gave me a bottle of champagne. Though he even knew I am still breastfeeding (a great excuse to not drink) but “well a glass can’t hurt on Christmas”.

volvoxvsmarla,

But wouldn’t “old liver, new eagles” make more sense? Or at least the same? It’s still his liver (regrowing), and new birds feasting on it (because yesterday’s birds might be still digesting you know). Or metaphorically, there’s always new problems to make your life shit.

volvoxvsmarla,

How big is her house to be able to hold a python without it being animal cruelty? Won’t it need like a whole level just to itself?

volvoxvsmarla,

True, but isn’t that just a classic milk rice dessert?

volvoxvsmarla,

Jesus this sounds horrible. May some future changes in medication help you with that symptom.

volvoxvsmarla,

Chiming in from Germany where stores close at 8 pm the latest. If I entered a home depot like store after 7 pm on a Saturday (you know, Sunday is for Church so no way any store is open) the employees would be killing me with their glace. So, I guess if you plan to emigrate and providing your childhood experience to your kids is important to you, Germany isn’t the right destination.

volvoxvsmarla,

An important and complex storyline can still be executed awfully either in writing or cinematography. But you gotta have at least a somewhat under the average IQ to understand that.

volvoxvsmarla,

It’s not about the movie(s) in question, it is a general statement. Saying a movie is automatically good because the underlying story is good or worth telling is denouncing so many factors that play into making a movie a good movie. PatFussy was only pointing out that the cutting was terrible (I haven’t seen the movie itself so I cannot judge it) and too fast paced. This is something that can absolutely ruin an otherwise great movie and make it unbearable to watch. The story, the script, the dialogue, the acting, the effects, the cutting, the lighting, the sound and soundtrack- all these things (and many more) are individually important and only when everything works well together a movie can be good (doesn’t automatically mean it is a good movie). Is Oppenheimer a story worth being told? Probably. Most stories are. Has it been told in a well executed way? I don’t know, and also this is a highly personal matter of taste. If someone thinks the cutting is epileptic then that’s a valid opinion that has nothing to do with their intelligence, not understanding a movie, or having an unsophisticated taste in cinema.

As a side note, putting “West” Anderson in a category with Christopher Nolan is ridiculous. One makes arty, more indie movies with rather obscure storylines that rely heavily on the script and dialogue, while the other makes grand style blockbuster action movies. Except for both of them being famous and making movies, the difference could not be vaster.

volvoxvsmarla,

Our daughter is just 2 years 3 months old and she is already singing made up melodies and lyrics. A couple of days back she made up a song about new bushes (whatever that is). Her friend (3,5 years) jammed with her dad on a keyboard and started singing very creepily “it sat for five minutes, sat for five minutes, sat for five minutes, and then it died”.

What I love most about what kids say in these young years is that it is so freaking random. As a teen I loved dadaism and absurd theater and all this random stuff coming out of toddlers is absolutely golden. It sounds like a Merz poem at times. I can absolutely imagine a four year old telling a story about a cleaning lady with 5 kids and a husband.

volvoxvsmarla,

Honestly in some way he was lucky. There were people helping him and trying to rescue him and he could hear them directly and even see someone’s face at a point, they even gave him a radio to communicate to his wife waiting outside of the cave. He was comforted and had company and hope. A lot of other “explorers” or “adventurers” who die in freak accidents don’t have that much luck.

volvoxvsmarla,

If you are an aspiring serial killer planning on serial killing then I’d say at victim #3 you should really invest in a small kitchen cremator to ignite your serial killing career

volvoxvsmarla,

Tell that to my daughter watching that soviet cartoon about penguins I had as a video tape over and over again on youtube

volvoxvsmarla,

You need to get them hooked on something else. But be careful what you wish for because this will only give temporary relief until you start hating the new addiction and wish back the previous one. My girl went from binge rewatching a penguin cartoon to the little mole to a horribly animated newer cartoon about cats and dogs. And I fear we have reached the point at which we cannot hide or deny the existence of peppa pig any longer and I already regret dissing the kittens & puppies stuff because jfc I watched peppa pig for the first time today and I won’t be able to bear this one for the love of God

volvoxvsmarla,

Well I doubt the accents will change, or the plots will become more elaborate or realistic, or the drawing style will change. Right?

volvoxvsmarla,

I would guess the ad revenue. Twitter sells ads. Businesses are probably less likely to advertise on a rebranded platform that implemented so many controversial changes that advertising on it is now not only hitting a much smaller target group (since people left) but is also associated negatively, which might lead to losing even more clients. It is like a local organic fair trade food brand being associated with nestle. This will probably not lead to an increase in sales but much the opposite.

This fast food order kiosk accepts cash (mander.xyz)

All the McD*nalds in my area have been upgraded with order kiosks. Regardless of all the controversy around self-checkout, and minimum wage, and automation taking our jobs, I personally love them. I can take my sweet time composing my order, I can see the full selection (such as it is), I can see pictures and prices clearly...

volvoxvsmarla,

I know all yall Europeans are proud about your nearly total transition to cashless economy or whatever, and you like to boast how not a single euro banknote has graced the inside of your wallet in months.
