Absolute waste of tax money and resources, anyone advocating for this policy is an idiot and psychotic control freak that should never be allowed to opine on public policy.
Outdated values are driving this country back into the stone age. The body was designed to be horny as we go through teenage years. It's nature. Rather than guide kids on the safe path, fools would forbid, outlaw, prohibit until they can't control them after age of 18.
Here's how this plays out... Kids are going to masturbate, regardless. They will dive deeper into the Internet into places with no restrictions and be exposed to really messed up stuff. Hey at least the parent can pat themselves on the back, right, they were good partners that did everything right by the book, even paying the kid's therapist.
I don’t disagree with you otherwise. If we had a good age verification system that didn’t involve the website, only gave a boolean age check to the website, wasn’t logged at the government or any other level, I might think this was ok. But we don’t. So as soon as this starts I’ll pirate a bunch of porn.
Electronic ids can provide the age verification without giving out any personal information. This is a solved problem at least for a lot of ids in the EU.
But no i still find it a stupid idea. It is the parents job to parent them.
thanks! if implemented correctly, this is a decent way of verifying age. Although I’d rather not have any but it’s definitely better than taking a selfie.
give it time. the government (us) wants to put interlock gadgets into every new car to prevent drunks from driving. driving under the influence is illegal and those that do are more likely to kill someone. so is driving without a license, and so are those drivers.
There are also circumstances where it’s legal to drive over the legal bac. If someone is having a medical emergency then it’s legal to drive them to a hospital.
I suspect you haven’t worked with governments before.
Just because something is technically possible, it’s no guarantee that it will be the chosen mechanism for something. More likely the contract will be awarded to either the lowest possible bidder, or to a friend of a friend. Cronyism is depressingly common at all levels.

Not sure why you are under that impression. I never discussed the potential chosen mechanism.
I stated that it is possible and that it is already implemented into the id card of many eu citizens.
Internal Family System. A therapeutic approach based on system theory approaches child-like inner parts and gives them the affection and love they needed (and still need) when those parts formed.
I think I’d be the opposite. I’d be like, “It still sucks, and the loneliness hits harder than ever, fella. But when you’re 24, you’ll get something that’ll change your life.”
Just to leave this oit there for the concerned; I’m fine.
I am, but it’s a day-by-day affair. I recently found out I have bipolar along with anxiety, but even so, I came out 4 years ago and my life has vastly improved.
Hey, it’s better than it always being shit. I’m sorry about the bipolar though. However, hopefully, it’s been found out. You can get help more suited for that.
The anxiety is.hinestly such a bitch. And I’m so glad coming out has helped. I wish you all the best.
Cooking pasta correctly is an art, but there are some basic rules to follow if you want consistent results.
If you want to avoid this situation in particular, take the pasta out just before it’s done along with about 1/4 cup of the water and add both to your sauce and finish cooking the pasta there. You’ll end up with pasta that is cooked perfectly with a sauce that readily adheres to each noodle and no stickyness
The sauce itself should be quite thick before adding the pasta water. I let my bolognese reduce for at least an hour and a half before starting to boil water for the pasta.
Well, you only use a bit of the pasta water, it depends how much tomato sauce you’re making.
Pull out about a cup of the pasta water.
Dump the pasta. Don’t rinse the pasta, ever.
Now either slowly pour in a bit of the pasta water into the sauce, stir it, look at it, there should be a sheen. The pasta water makes the red sauce very silky.
Or, take a frying pan, turn the heat on. Add butter and olive oil. When the butter gets melted, dump diced veggies (or not) into the pan. Cook the vegetables to almost desired tenderness. Dump garlic in for no more than one minute.
Dump some pasta water in, just a little, and throw the pasta on top. Mix it up. After a short time, 15 seconds maybe, pour the red sauce on top of the spaghetti and veggies, stir.
After about a minute or so, add pasta water, just a bit. Stir. Taste. Is it shiny and silky? If not add a little more water. Repeat until it’s tasty.
Rinsing the pasta is fine for making a cold pasta salad or something like that, removing the free starch stops it from sticking. But for a dish with sauce, definitely don’t rinse.
I think it’s more the idea that people who chase “the one,” tend to be pretty toxic. It’s much important to focus on finding a partner who treats you well then thinking there’s some sort of magic to the whole thing
No but a lot of young people obsessed with finding “the one,” or “true love” put the entire concept on a pedestal. Which is more the point I think OP is making
You’re having to read between the lines a hell of a lot to assume that. I’m just working with what’s there. To me, true love is just love. Simple as that.
I think the whole true love thing is bullshit and I am in a very happy longterm relationship. But it’s just love. Love is the feeling that it is. There is no true version of it. All love is the same. But relationships are not built on love alone. The true love concept makes it come across to me that way though. That if things don’t work out your love just wasn’t true enough. You just have to love harder and truer next time. It’s even worse when the concept gets extended to there only being one true love per lifetime or whatever.
It’s not that. Imo all love is created equal. It’s the other factors that make things work or not work. Compatibility with the partner, how hard you try, how much you try, how mature you are. Honesty, trust. But also external factors such as how easy or hard life is at that time for you. Even the greatest relationships can fall apart in the shittiest of times. Doesn’t make the love less true.
conversely, I’d argue that subjective feelings are always true - but they may disagree. I can be angry at you for no good reason, doesn’t mean I’m not angry, it just means I shouldn’t be in your opinion, but I should be in mine. All those things can be true simultaneously.
To add to that from my experience I can even be angry for no good reason and at the same time logically think I shouldn’t be. Even that doesn’t make the feelings untrue. It just makes me know they might not be justified or reasonable. And feelings can be all that.
It won’t work. Ever. VPN’s free and paid exist, File sharing exists, Torrents exist, AI pornography generators exist, freenet, tor, I2P all exist. There is no action a government could take that would have any true impact in this regard unless they made the use of the internet illegal, and even at that, it would create a black market in which such things could still be purchased as physical media.
All this does is allow government entities to infringe on privacy rights further by doing what they have always done - hiding behind children.
From an outside perspective Trump was a shit show.
I don’t really care about your internal politics, but what I can say is that he had a massive impact on America’s credibility in the world. If you can just leave and rejoin the Paris climate agreement or unilaterally end the Iran nuclear oversight program, why should anyone really trust you on anything?
Joe Biden did a lot to repair this loss in trust, but it’s hard work and will take longer than one presidential period. Much longer than it took to damage your credibility in the world.
I (an American) was thinking a similar thing. What’s the point of treaties and agreements if all it takes is one asshole President to say “nah, we’re not doing that”?
What’s being referenced is that the symbol of Trump’s party is an elephant. They’re the ones who basically set all this up. The other party holds to treaties they don’t like and such
You speak to one that emigrated as a result of what Trump did to America, so I have no quarrel with you about that. I am just amused by the German version with elephants in China shops since the Republican icon is an elephant.
