There are plenty different types of meditation that you can look into.
To start, try to sit for just a minute or two, lightly close your eyes, and slowly count your breaths in and out without trying to control your breathing. Each time your mind wanders, bring it back to your breath.
I do have small kids and thus not a lot of time for myself. The time I do have I spend on martial arts, kettlebells, learning to play the guitar or just hanging on the couch reading and trying not to fall asleep. If the kids are awake I’m mostly doing stuff with them like playing with Lego, role playing or whatever they feel like in the moment.
The generic stuff that has a broad common denominator will easily take hold on Lemmy as they would in any growing community (like shitposts, question threads, gaming, technology, news, image focused communities and so on).
The niche stuff will take a while to grow, more so as the niche subs are those less likely to move from Reddit (or already have communities like Discord that they retreat to). More specific communities will need to build a new base here unfortunately.
Yes, however it’s usually a little more expensive to get the same coverage, as the employer pays a part of employee’s insurance costs.
Forfeit? No, they’ll still need insurance (you get a fine if you’re without insurance for more than 3 out of 12 months (at least, I think that was the case)).
