What was wrong with feddit.de?

mustardcake, in What do you do to stop procrastinating?

One of the side effects of practicing meditation is procrastination pretty much went away completely.

agarorn,

How? And do you have tips on starting it?

mustardcake,

There are plenty different types of meditation that you can look into.

To start, try to sit for just a minute or two, lightly close your eyes, and slowly count your breaths in and out without trying to control your breathing. Each time your mind wanders, bring it back to your breath.

krnpnk, in People that don't have TV in their house, what the hell do you do with your free time?

I do have small kids and thus not a lot of time for myself. The time I do have I spend on martial arts, kettlebells, learning to play the guitar or just hanging on the couch reading and trying not to fall asleep. If the kids are awake I’m mostly doing stuff with them like playing with Lego, role playing or whatever they feel like in the moment.

mascarasnake, in If you could satisfy your daily nutrition and caloric needs with one food in particular, what food would you happily eat for the rest of your life?

Beignets. Or mac and cheese. It’s a conundrum.

void_wanderer, in What are some reddit communities you wish to see live and more active on lemmy?

Arts (Printmaking, Graffiti, sculpture, calligraphy, typography, design), and all the SFW porn subs.

Also, I’m really amazed that lemmy.world/c/sourdough is already quite active.

birdcannon, in Can someone still viewing Reddit explain how it is doing as of right now in terms of content quality and engagement?

Can’t speak for defaults or large subs, just anecdotal stuff from the few times when I browsed on desktop since Friday.

One of my favorite subreddits /r/progmetal is still private with a message to join the discord instead. Glad they’re staying dark.

Others seem like business as usual, but I don’t have any data obv.

Laxaria, (edited )

The generic stuff that has a broad common denominator will easily take hold on Lemmy as they would in any growing community (like shitposts, question threads, gaming, technology, news, image focused communities and so on).

The niche stuff will take a while to grow, more so as the niche subs are those less likely to move from Reddit (or already have communities like Discord that they retreat to). More specific communities will need to build a new base here unfortunately.

Time will tell; it’s not been that long.

Nope they won’t be deleted. They’ll be orphaned though.

That said, people should more from lemmy.world, not to it. 🥺

humantorchbankloan, in What would an action figure of you look like?

like me

NippleFarts, in What are some reddit communities you wish to see live and more active on lemmy?

For me, sports communities. Game day threads are a blast.

Watcher, in What made you pick the Lemmy server you are on?

The list of blocked instances made me switch from feddit.de to the current instance I’m using.

Dislodge3233,

Can you explain?

mizu6079, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?
@mizu6079@vlemmy.net avatar

Update because I still get one or two comments in my inbox daily asking me about this thing.

Yes, I did succeed.

No, I’m not telling anyone what all of this was about.

I got constipated after the thing was over and made a post asking for help.

  1. Yes, however it’s usually a little more expensive to get the same coverage, as the employer pays a part of employee’s insurance costs.
  2. Forfeit? No, they’ll still need insurance (you get a fine if you’re without insurance for more than 3 out of 12 months (at least, I think that was the case)).
Nightmaru, in Insurance in US

There is a way, and it is required, but it is much more expensive; therefore people usually pay for the least amount of coverage.

If you fall under a certain income threshold you can get free healthcare through medicare/aid.
