You're forgetting the most important rule of the internet, enacted in 2020 and largely unspoken, but widely followed:
No controversial thought. Everything must abide by the hivemind. Sure, the hivemind might extol the virtues of free thought and expression, but actions speak louder than words.
Thanks to the massive worldwide propaganda campaign of 2020, very few corners of the internet are safe from virtue-signaling, wannabe-woke control freaks who can't stand the thought of others disagreeing with their force-fed worldviews, because they mistakenly believe that such ideas are "dangerous." 🙄
Yes, I know, opposing viewpoints are something small little minds like your own can't possibly tolerate. Now run back to your safe space where everyone agrees with you and gives you constant validation!
Sure is looking that way already. I had such high hopes for Lemmy being a more open community....but that's already quickly turning out to not be the case.
Quite enjoyable and, since seeing the sub.rehab site someone else posted, even better. I've found quite a few subs that have made their way over to Lemmy.
My only gripe is that quite a few have made their way to lemmy.world, and it's buckling under pressure. I can't sign up on that instance, nor can I remotely sub to communities from my own instance. Once that's resolved, I think I'll definitely be happy to call Lemmy my new home.
I do. Simply to avoid the annoyance of someone missing obvious clues that scream “this is sarcastic and ironic, should not be taken literally!” and creating drama out of nowhere.
Get your bowels empty in the days leading up to it. So don’t eat. Anything. 2 days before you can relieve yourself start eating small amounts of protein.
Or, better yet, don’t even try to do this. You’re very unlikely to succeed and therefore your effort is going into preventing an inevitable situation rather than figuring out how to deal with the inevitable problem once it arrives.
Maybe to a lesser extent, since not every instance federates everything. If clusters start to form, you'd expect some in-jokes to be limited to certain communities / instances.
Be nice to see that fixed, when is 0.18 going to be officially released? That seems like a pretty high number on release candidates. Though I understand there's some controversy with captcha removal, how's that going to pan out?
