kiwifoxtrot, in What are some good forums that you enjoy?
@kiwifoxtrot@lemmy.world avatar

Sailing Anarchy for all things related to sailing. There's a small subset of folks on there that are very toxic, but it is the best place for extremely technical content.

Yoldark, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?

Get some mana or soilent, stuff like that.

You need to eat it before your journey as your bowels need to adapt, once it is good you will have one poop per week as there is not a lot of fibers in it.

It is cheap also. You got everything you need to be well.

szczur, in Why does Lemmy feel so fresh compared to Reddit?
@szczur@lemmy.ml avatar

Fediverse denizens are really active.

Heimchen,

Yea, I became more active on lemmy than ever was on Reddit

SrEstegosaurio,

Yeah, engagement is in the Fediverse is colosal in comparison.

Quills, in Why is the Lemmy maskot/Logo a rat?
@Quills@sh.itjust.works avatar

I think the name Lemmy comes from lemmings, a kind of rodent, aand, that probably answer both your questions right? That's what i think it is

LazaroFilm,

So no connection with Motörhead…

Dirk,
@Dirk@lemmy.ml avatar

It’s literally the first in the list of meaning.

Why’s it called Lemmy?

  • Lead singer from Motörhead.
  • The old school video game.
  • The Koopa from Super Mario.
  • The furry rodents.

Pretty sure it is supposed to be a lemming.

It's not a rat, it's a Lemming.

Reddit is a play on words "I read it -> on reddit"

I was here for this glorious moment, we have to solve the puzzle and guess why he is doing this

Don't drink coffee then.

Tbf, there's a difference between knowing instinctively that someone poops and being first-hand witness to the godawful stench of post-chipotle bowel movement in an area with poor air circulation (AC aside).

Crush is definitely involved though.

HidingCat, in How did Ikea's Blajah became the symbol of the trans community ?

I didn't even know this was a thing! Is it a pretty universal symbol now?

WalrusDragonOnABike,

I've seen it quite often. Both on Reddit and twitch at least.

Gormadt, in Side effects of nitric oxide?
@Gormadt@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

You should talk to your doctor about what you're doing and experiencing. Because it sure sounds like you're either doing a breathing technique wrong and suffocating yourself or you're doing it right and have an underlying condition that's making whatever you're doing dangerous.

TLDR talk to a medical professional not social media about it.

Neeps, in How did Ikea's Blajah became the symbol of the trans community ?

It is very soft and cute and may also help you hide medication from parents

Cameli_Hostis, in Side effects of nitric oxide?
@Cameli_Hostis@lemmy.world avatar

You're thinking of Nitrous Oxide (N2O). Nitrous Oxide is used during some surgeries (I took it when they pulled my wisdom teeth) and abused by people trying to get high. Nitric Oxide (NO) is apparently a vasodilator (it relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow). It's produced naturally by the body, and you can buy supplements if you really want your pee to have more Nitric Oxide in it (taking most supplements just makes your body get rid of the extra by filtering it through the kidneys).

I don't know anything about the Buteyko method, but it sounds like a fad/scam medical practice with no proven benefits. But you do you, just don't do the tape thing, that sounds dangerous.
