I live in North Texas. We get everything other than volcanoes. We have tornados, earthquakes, and hurricanes can even make it this far in land from the Gulf of Mexico. Plus excessive heat-waves and since 2020 artic blasts. Plus if we’re not experiencing a drought there will be flash floods.
Basically, thanks to 25 years of Republican control the state is not prepared for jack shit. My current disaster prep is limited to savings as much money as I can, so I can move out of this state this summer.
I use a tissue to clean my ears before I use them and take off the little silicon plug thingy every long once in a while and wash them in my hand with some dish soap
I usually put on one of darkness prevails compilation videos from YouTube. The dude is a prolific poster and has probably hundreds of five plus hour long videos which are just audio with a screenshot for the video. I don’t even particularly care about the spooky scary stories or creepypasta or whatever the hell it’s called, but something about that dude’s voice and the way he reads those stories just knocks me out. Although I can’t recommend it for everybody because it could end up giving you really fucked up dreams.
I loved it, and I’ve watched it several times. I just enjoy fun popcorn action movies these days, though, so I tend to be more a fan of this type of movie than most. I loved the cast and the chemistry they had and wanted to see a sequel.
Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree.
I haven’t read the comic books that they’re based on for a long time, but as I recall, they also break the fourth wall. I don’t think that that was introduced specifically for the movie.
Marvel’s Deadpool is known for his over-the-top violence and crude and crass humor, but perhaps his best-known character trait is his penchant for repeatedly breaking the fourth wall. Deadpool talks to the audience in comics, films and videogames - but he didn’t always have this power. In fact, early Deadpool was known for being quite serious and firmly rooted in the fictional realm…so when did the Merc with a Mouth first break the fourth wall - and how did he insult editors everywhere by doing so?
Deadpool and the assassin with superhuman accuracy Bullseye teamed up in previous issues, and in Deadpool #28, the two are reunited after a long absence. “How long has it been!?” Bullseye exclaims. Deadpool simply states “Issue sixteen.” It’s the smallest of fourth-wall breaks (he hadn’t even began speaking to the readers yet), but it shows that Deadpool is doing more than acting out - he’s acting as his own editor. Considering convoluted comics continuity, it’s normal for editors to occasionally place footnotes in certain panels, specifically when characters reference past events. Perhaps Kelly and Woods considered the old method, but wanted to try a new technique. Whatever their reasoning, Deadpool’s fourth wall breaks became a staple of the character.
Looks like Deadpool #28dates to 1997, though, so Deadpool breaking the fourth wall has been around for over a quarter of a century.
The whole point of Deadpool is the self awareness though. You can find it annoying, it’s not for everyone, but it’s true to what the character has become.
The way I had it explained to me by a friend who’s into his comics (I’m not a comic reader) is that his regen abilities + cancer basically damaged his brain and made him insane which is why he “thinks” he’s a comic book/movie hero. Not so much that he’s breaking the 4th wall but that he’s talking at it like a crazy person. He even has multiple personalities that I wish they’d introduced in DP2! It was hinted at when he’s reunited with Vanessa in DP1 when he says “and now the moment I’ve all been waiting for”
Fairly more optimistic than the previous years because there’s no rain in the forecast this time. Freezing is more manageable if there’s no ice everywhere. Of course there’s still the danger of pipes bursting because of lack of winterization. Then the most obvious, the fear of losing power.
Back nearly 20 years ago Disney California Adventure (Anaheim, Cali) had this interactive exhibit where you did various things in line with the Disney animated kids movies. One was playing the Seven Dwarfs “Heigh ho, heigh ho, it’s off to work we go…”
In a little alcove in front of a group of friends was another group of cute mid-teen little Latino girls. They were dressed somewhat provocatively for the average Disney guest and all were wearing bold makeup, (not judging, but they stood out). The typical Spanish accent was prevalent with the silent “h”. Their innocent rendition as they sang along was hilarious. Happy as they could be they were singing, “I hoe, I hoe, it’s off to work we go…”
I use a q-tip with a little bit of alcohol on it. Rub very carefully over the speaker part. I remove the flexible earpiece part and just rinse that out in the sink. I usually do it once a week because my ears get kind of waxy.
Cold dark room to Lower your temperature and block visual stimuli, eye covers work wonders where not possible, also help once you’re used to do naps on hard workout days.
Melatonin on days I stay half awake for over 30 mins after lights off, usually a small biye off a 10 mg helps conciliate sleep.
Happy toughts, no crazy killing TV series reading drama or action stuff sets you up for decent natural occurring dreams.
Eat at least 2 hrs before going to bed so I’m not having hard digestion competing with brain cycles, light dinners and green veggies help get you all the magnesium to rest well.
Ultimately we’re routine animals, sleep in my own bed, at the same time is the basic. Do it and force you to get to sleep on time and your body will pay you back with excellent recovery and a sharp mind.
Even with all of this I’m thinking to start trying relaxation mushrooms to Kickstart the cycle.
