AlexWIWA, (edited ) in What game do you play to just chill?

C&C Generals World Builder. I just make maps while I’m in discord.

It’s stimulating enough that it keeps my mind from wandering from a conversation, but brainless enough to be engaged in the conversation.

I’m also partial to Minecraft. Just decorate a little section then log off until tomorrow

mydude, in Why do most people refuse to accept that they are wrong

When trying to persuade someone of something, you need to talk to the elephant, not the rider (emotion, not logic). That’s why propaganda works so well and facts don’t.

AceFuzzLord, in What game do you play to just chill?

When I’m on the go, I like to just chill with games like Fire Emblem Heroes on my phone (the parts that don’t require you to potentially pair up and play against sweats with no life who can make a lvl.1 3 star character nuke your lvl.40+10 5 star unit). Or if I’m not on a bus and am just in a car, I might just pull out my switch if I have it on me and do some raids in Pokemon Violet (offline since I don’t have the online pass).

If I’m at home on my desktop, I like to chill from time to time building rollercoasters (Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum) of either doom (mostly those) or ones could feasibly be made in the real world without healthy people dying while riding it. That, or do some casual peglin runs.

Treczoks, in Low effort posts

Prerequisite: you == The asklemmy community

Well, you got what you asked for. As one is not allowed to ask real questions here, you get the "thought provoking questions" you wanted. No sympathy or pity from my side for wasting a good community name for a socio-psychological experiment.

Valmond,

What happened?

Treczoks,

Look at the charter. This group is not for asking real questions, as in "Does anyone know..." or "How do I...", but for "though provoking" discussion starters. A bit like r/showerthoughts on reddit was. For that, a name like "asklemmy" is wasted.

Etterra, in Why do most people refuse to accept that they are wrong

Cognitive dissonance. Lots of people never learn and are never taught how to separate their ego from their knowledge. It doesn’t help that education still relies on punishing mistakes and failure.

Honytawk, in How would you rate my stick?

Slight bendy, like my penis.

I like it.

bullshitter, in Why do most people refuse to accept that they are wrong

Because then you will lose yourself. If done properly you will become a new person. Meditation helps to achieve this only.

pdxfed, in Wat is your favorite breathing technique and what effect does it bestow?

Max/max/10, followed by

90%/max/10

80%/max/10, etc.

Point is to inhale slightly less each time, hold as long as you can, then slowly breathe out. Works wonders for helping me fall asleep or just generally relaxed when I’m anxious or not sleepy.

Etterra, in How would you rate my stick?

I’d say it’s a 6. Nice and straight with very little taper. Those little branch nubbins would make it suck to hold at the end, and the bark needs to be stripped off across the entire thing. I’d take a belt sander to it and clean it up some

uis, in How would you rate my stick?

On my uneducated guess 42/10

What makes you think it’s most people? Who you hangin out with?

Remember, Confucious say: If you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room.

ccdfa, in What game do you play to just chill?

Pokemon Fire Red or Dark Souls

kalkulat, (edited ) in Can licking an iron bar get you the daily recommended amount of iron?
@kalkulat@lemmy.world avatar

US RDA age 19+ is 8 mg / day. Maybe if the iron bar is really rusty. Or, pills are cents a day. OR you could eat breakfast cereal or liver, lentils or spinach, Popeye.

ods.od.nih.gov/…/iron-HealthProfessional/

Droechai,

Breakfast cereals made of liver and spinach feel like an unexplored market

Ravi, in What game do you play to just chill?

The Hunter: Call of the Wild. I have nothing to do with hunting. I’d never thought a hunting simulation could be my type of game, but putting headphones on and running through the woods is so relaxing.

offspec, in What game do you play to just chill?

Potion craft is great for this, just running a little potion shop making potions to order.
