Can’t use phone… Uses PC, can’t use PC for games, plays on laptop can’t play laptop for games. Would rather stare at a wall than do uni work

Noodle07,

There’s always time to nap

Kanda, in "Purpose" by PoorlyDrawnLines

Oh no, it’s Chess!

GoodEye8,

No, it’s Magic the Gathering. Chess is a pretty cheap hobby.

Kanda, (edited )

Yeah mtg really burns your walletif you’re trying to keep up with any sort of competitive scene. But you’d be surprised how much money Chess-obsessed people can spend

LesserAbe, in Pen Pals!

Does anyone know someone with a pen pal? It’s a nice idea and I remember doing it in elementary school, but who has the time?

CaptainEffort,

There’s an app that sort of emulates having a pen pal, if you’re interested. It’s called Slowly, I think

Jackthelad,

It’s a great app too. I’ve made some good friends through it.

sundray,

There’s a few people keeping the practice alive, like Global Penfriends and etc. I don’t know how many choose to use snail mail for it, but I know of people who for various reason enjoy physical correspondence. Probably most pen pals are using email these days – although that’s getting a little archaic now, too!

I have elderly relatives an ocean away from me and they absolutely refuse to text, so we talk via email. It’s kind of like having a pen pal, sort of.

Donjuanme, in Damnit brain

This was very good.

Pomodoro technique is working alright for me, what are you using?

name_NULL111653, in Pen Pals!

Literally the same way with ham radio… We have three purposes, in order of importance: Emergency and disaster services, talking about our radio equipment, and talking about the weather (sometimes in great detail). See also: farmer Joe in Arkansas got his kidney removed, ed in Tennessee finally fixed his motorcycle, and the Smith Brothers went to Hawaii to make a Morse contact with Japan.
