AeonFelis, in "Outdoor Cat vs Indoor Cat" by Sarah Andersen

Indoor cats still move a lot around the house, destroying stuff.

I already don’t have any time

And for some reason my stupid self though that getting into self hosting, historical fencing, HAM radio and free diving at the same time was somehow a realistic goal

    ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    OneWomanCreamTeam, in So unrealistic!

I feel like this is way better if you take the third panel out.

Konstant, in "Outdoor Cat vs Indoor Cat" by Sarah Andersen

Forgot to mention the little animals the outdoor cat kill along the way.

    chiliedogg,

You see all the scattered feathers in the second lane?

We should keep all predators inside. Birds, lions, alligators, etc.

Shame on everyone in this thread that wants to have an argument about indoor v outdoor cats. 99 problems this isn’t one we need to pull out the torches for.

    duffman,

Species going extinct is a matter I care about.

    Here here.

    I_Fart_Glitter,

I’ve seen the stats on cats v birds, but I live in the country and there are feral and outdoor cats galore. I’ve literally never seen one even noticing birds except to chatter lazily at them.

But in every field there is at least one cat sitting patiently over a gopher/rodent hole waiting. Sometimes once they catch a rodent, a raven will come screaming down on them and they drop their snack and run away while the raven flies off with it.

Ravens on the other hand, love nothing more than fledgling song birds and eggs.

My cat is indoors and running Linux so Lemmy will like me.

Cool! Now I still feel like I’m lacking purpose, but I’m spending extra money!

    Harpsist, in Bookmarks

I used to keep impeccable bookmarks.

Unfortunately. It was a time where book marks were ONLY on your pc. So as soon as my hard drive crashed. I lost all of them.

I only had to do this a few times before I stopped caring.

Eventually firefox allowed cloud sync. But it was to late. I e forgotten hundreds of sites.

bionicjoey, in The first Peanuts comic strip - 1950

This is pretty clever and funny for a cartoon from the 50s. Feels like it would fit in with modern webcomic humour no problem

Modern version: additional panel where the kid pulls out his phone and says, “I’m gonna bully him on social media!”

    dudinax,

Original peanuts was cutting edge about 20% of the time.

I used to sell books back in the day in a super hippie crunchy counter culture town.

One day this guy came in we lovingly described as “a little bit fried”… Heavy drug use left him just a little crispy around the edges.

But he was making an effort, he had on a suit and tie that was maybe 20 years out of date. A GoodWill find probably.

“Hey man, is there a book that can help me fix a hole in my resume?”

“Well… it kinda depends on how big a hole you’re talking about and what you were doing…”

    . . .

“I TOOK TEN YEARS OFF TO FOLLOW THE DEAD!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘”

“You know, in any OTHER town that could work against you… in THIS town… you could put that ON your resume and have people go ‘DUDE! WHAT SHOWS DID YOU SEE???’”

Hell yeah. And I don’t even like the Dead (sorry don’t hate me) but anybody living their best life vs living to work is ok in my book.

I like this style better than what it ultimately became. Maybe just because it feels unfamiliar.

    Asafum, in "Purpose" by PoorlyDrawnLines

Gem faceting… I have boxes full of stones and equipment, have watched countless videos, built my own (very shitty machine) but never pulled the trigger on an actual faceting machine…

    Also astrophotography…

Ffs I have caviar taste in hobbies and at best a cheap steak income…
