A few years ago at work there were constant fire drills and false alarms. Eventually we got sick of it and just ignored them. The “floor captains” would go from office to office and make everyone leave but ours was a computer lab with restricted access so they couldn’t get in even if they wanted to.
One day it was well below freezing out and we decided we were going to skip this fire drill. However the floor captains were particularly annoying this time and wouldn’t stop banging on our door so eventually we answered it. Apparently it wasn’t a drill and there was actually a fire in the building, right below our lab. Everything was taken care of quickly but they weren’t too thrilled we ignored them for so long.
Nah, Scott Adams is a hateful bigot. He thinks black people are a "hate group" - he truly went off the rails.
I don't really think this comic reflects its author's personal views at all. C&H has always been filled with shock comedy, black comedy, deliberate insensitivity, and silly puns, and everything is a target. This one doesn't really stand out as any different to how the comic's always been.
I don't really feel like there's ever really been a right-wing slant to these comics either. And I say that as someone who's ardently left-wing.
I mean, I remember it from like a decade ago when it first came out.
But before Lemmy it had been maybe 5 years since I saw one?
So maybe that’s why it seems like a big change. Back then it was just dark humor, now it seems like it tries to piss people off and say “just a joke”. Like, the quality isn’t what I remember, even if it’s trying to be the same thing.
Like comparing The Onion to Babylon Bee, they’re both trying to do the same thing, the result isn’t the same tho. There’s a conservative slant that just makes it annoying. Like, both of those things are giant wastes of money, why are they the two options?
The only webcomic I kept up with was SMBC and xkcd
I think maybe because it’s a movie known for putting a lot of effort into high detail visuals so watching at low quality wastes the effort put into them? idk I didn’t watch it
There’s this stupid theory, that men who “lean in” to the womans side are beta. People who believe this theory post edited pictures of famous couples with an added green line to show how the man is leaning in or show how a man is leaning out to explain that he’s an alpha. Obviously, this is complete BS.
Yes, but the name was changed for a reason almost 30 years ago. Even though it’s just a silly comic, a person suffering from the disorder especially should be using the correct term.
A Soviet man was feeling sick and went to the doctor. The secretary said that there were extreme shortages and that the doctor was booked far out, but would be available on the same date ten years from now. The man asked, Morning or evening?
Does it matter? she asked.
Yes: I have a mechanic appointment in the afternoon.
