Amazing. Thanks. Seems like you could divert most of the air into a secondary silencer chamber. That way only a “small” amount of air interacts with the reed. I’m not a gun guy though. I’m more here for the clown noises.

chiliedogg,

He needs to run it through an adjustable gas block.

I’m sure Wojtek Weaponry could rig something up for him. They love silly gun community memes.

ook_the_librarian,
@ook_the_librarian@lemmy.world avatar

Would that make noise that would overcome the honk? That was my fear of a secondary device. (again not a gun guy.)

chiliedogg,

Easy solution.

Secondary silencer!

ook_the_librarian,
@ook_the_librarian@lemmy.world avatar

It’s silencers all the way down.

And a flag that spells ‘Bang!’

It’s a clown gun. It has thousands of clown bullets inside and are commonly used in action movies due to how the bullets are many and non-lethal however they edit out the honking.

Honk honk

this idea is going straight to space station 13, I’m sure

StrahdVonZarovich,
@StrahdVonZarovich@ttrpg.network avatar

Hey, a fellow space station player in the wild! Please God don’t let the station clown get this, he already tied me up in the library so I have to watch his nonsense.

Godric,

I’ve played like 2 games of it and have no idea wtf is going on, any tips?

skulblaka,

I’ve played like 60 games and barely have any idea wtf is going on, good luck lmao

My advice is to pick something relatively low impact like janitor or bartender if it’s available and just try and hang out and see what happens. Or just be an assistant but people tend to ignore you or grief you if you’re assistant. Some of the more complex roles, if you’re interested in trying them, such as engineering or botany, are greatly benefited by figuring out how to host a private server to log on to and practice outside of a real game. Medical, at least as of a couple years ago when I last played, is pretty formulaic and as long as you know what operation you need to perform and have the supplies to do it, you can just follow a wiki page recipe.

Don’t trust sec, don’t trust the clown, if anyone outside of your departnent is being exceptionally nice to you they’re probably going to stuff your corpse in a locker 20 minutes from now if you don’t help them kidnap HoP. Learn to be robust. Rules (both social, and actual game rules and code) will differ, sometimes greatly, depending what server you’re currently on, but reading the Goonstation wiki should give you approximate knowledge of most things.

If you roll antagonist, God be with you, and know that we’ve all royally bungled many an antag objective, most especially when new. Just try to have as much fun as you can, the points don’t matter anyway.

Hmmm, send it back to R&D. The expelled gasses going directly into the horn would only produce a single-toned “HONK”. Instead, those gasses could be used to inflate a cuff that’s wrapped around a more traditional style clown horn bulb, squeezing the bulb and producing that same noise; but as the cuff loses pressure and bulb reinflates, the air it draws back will produce second tone, providing the clown horn’s signature “HEE-HAW” that our prospective murder victims expect and deserve.

Kowowow,

You could skip a lot of effort by just using g a rubber chicken

NoSpiritAnimal,
@NoSpiritAnimal@lemmy.world avatar

Yes but direct gas impingement on a rubber chicken is going to wear some parts. Better to have an indirect system and avoid carbon deposits in your comedy noisemakers.

Smithers, have old man Gower killed

Sabre363,

Not a bad idea, people will just think its a crackhead clown walking down the street shooting people. No reason to call the cops then.

I could totally see this in the next Borderlands game.

Ghostalmedia,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

Bullets are faster than sound. So it might be bang, splat, toot.

mojofrododojo,

subsonic ammo is a thing, esp. for suppressed firearms - that way you never get a crack, and only hear the mechanical action of the assemblies reciprocating.

Ghostalmedia,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

Noted, clown horn might counteract my suppressor.

mojofrododojo,

yeah I mean the horn is what we’re trying to preserve, not the crack.

Ghostalmedia,
@Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world avatar

I’d pay to see the John Wick silencer flight dubbed with those “her-huh” clown horn sounds.

mojofrododojo,

slap kick pfft HONK pfft HONK pfft HONK punch kick

bruhduh,
@bruhduh@lemmy.world avatar

.45 acp default rounds is subsonic

mojofrododojo,

Valid point. But is that .45? the barrel looks small.

Frankly I can’t identify the firearm.

bruhduh,
@bruhduh@lemmy.world avatar

Looks like .22 they too can’t achieve over subsonic speeds in pistols example of that is lr 22/45 pistol

bnaur,

It’s a russian Margolin, or some variant. So yes, a .22LR.

ook_the_librarian,
@ook_the_librarian@lemmy.world avatar

Which is exactly in line with the meme.

Ilovethebomb,

You should post this to noncredibledefense as well.
