skulblaka,

Oh it gets worse.

According to the full documentation, soup is a salad, salad is either quiche or nachos depending on prep style, and nigiri is toast. Notably, salad itself does not fall under the “salad” cube rule.

skulblaka,

I think that depends on your definitions of “mind”, “hole”, and “going”

skulblaka,

Another fun thing about that is that most folks who identify “red” or “right” actually aren’t paying enough attention to know that. Go ask them, they think people like them make up 70% or more of the country. If they do try to activate their little civil war they are going to find themselves very quickly surrounded by folks who do not like them at all, as their expected 200-million strong army ends up actually only being 1.5 million people spread out over 30,000+ square miles. Watching the realization dawn on them might actually even be fun if it weren’t a herald of Troubles for America.

skulblaka,

You don’t have to be stupid to fall victim to propaganda. It happens to literally everyone, every single living human being, in the modern age. We are being assaulted from all sides at all times with conflicting information.

skulblaka,

Hmm… I bet the owners of r/roguelikedev could be convinced to run a Lemmy community, seems their style. I think they can be reached via discord. I might look into that, they were a good group, and helpful.

skulblaka,

Yesss. I need my mechanic shitposting back I love those boys

skulblaka,

Lizards get ligma eyes, it’s a different strain. Like bird flu vs human flu.

skulblaka,

It works well for zebras, who travel in herds. Their stripe pattern, similar to dazzle, makes it difficult to differentiate individuals from the group and isolate a single one. For an army in marching formation, or otherwise on the move in a group, it could serve to make it difficult to tell exactly how many soldiers are in your group. But it isn’t going to work as classic “camo”, of course, nobody is going to not see you.

skulblaka,

It’s because the sites refuse to police misinformation in any form. You want attention on that, you have to say something that someone in charge of that cares about. Falsely reporting their death is an easy, legal and fun way to make a content moderator or site owner or CEO pause and say “hey wait a minute”

skulblaka,

It feels like a… trojan issue

skulblaka,

I’ve played like 60 games and barely have any idea wtf is going on, good luck lmao

My advice is to pick something relatively low impact like janitor or bartender if it’s available and just try and hang out and see what happens. Or just be an assistant but people tend to ignore you or grief you if you’re assistant. Some of the more complex roles, if you’re interested in trying them, such as engineering or botany, are greatly benefited by figuring out how to host a private server to log on to and practice outside of a real game. Medical, at least as of a couple years ago when I last played, is pretty formulaic and as long as you know what operation you need to perform and have the supplies to do it, you can just follow a wiki page recipe.

Don’t trust sec, don’t trust the clown, if anyone outside of your departnent is being exceptionally nice to you they’re probably going to stuff your corpse in a locker 20 minutes from now if you don’t help them kidnap HoP. Learn to be robust. Rules (both social, and actual game rules and code) will differ, sometimes greatly, depending what server you’re currently on, but reading the Goonstation wiki should give you approximate knowledge of most things.

If you roll antagonist, God be with you, and know that we’ve all royally bungled many an antag objective, most especially when new. Just try to have as much fun as you can, the points don’t matter anyway.

skulblaka,

The Service Weapon was awesome. It’s got an intense sort of gravity around it. Hell, the first interaction with it is fighting a battle of wills in order to not shoot yourself in the head with it. The gun itself doesn’t look all that impressive but I do think it’s neat enough, and if you look at it from the perspective of the Service Weapon being a character in the story of Control, it’s really, really cool.

skulblaka,

You’re still getting scammed it’s just less immediately obvious

skulblaka,

Damn, I haven’t been reminded of BOFH in a while. Those are due for another read through, along with maybe the Jargon Files too.

skulblaka,

If left unattended for any period of time it will immediately begin seeking out the nearest knife

skulblaka,

This is almost literally the plot of Elden Ring with minor changes

skulblaka,

Ah, yes, my favorite meme. The Jizz Repeater.

skulblaka,

Powerline is alright if you have literally no other option but I’d take wifi instead 10/10 times unless my PC was trapped inside a Faraday cage.
