As the title says, you probably guessed it already. For work I mainly develop on the .NET platform using a Windows device, but at home I enjoy all the benefits of a good OS....

It is by design non-invasive and should work on any distro which meets the requirements; Btrfs root and systemd-boot bootloader. With non-invasive I mean; it doesn’t mess with your normal OS and its configuration, it can be rolled out, toyed around with and just as easily be removed again....

I know that a lot of what Nix does is working around its break from FHS, but I can imagine there are still things that seep through. Are there any unsolvable problems due to this?...

Long time Windows user here. I’ve been a M$ sysadmin at a large healthcare conglomerate for 20+ years. It’s all M$ products that I work with....

I like the idea of nixOS and will definitely try it in the future to see how portable I can make the setup be (hopefully a couple of files that can configure the entire machine)....
