I can’t even use my smart card because Ubuntu keeps trying to install the snap version of Firefox which can’t access the hardware. Why does it keep swapping out every time I update releases? Why won’t it let me be happy?! /cry
This is exactly why I’m switching to fedora. Just installed 23.10 and Firefox became a snap again. Ive been with ubuntu for over 10 years now, but I’m done.
At the expense of missing what could potentially be a deadpan ironic comment, I would like to divert your attention to the name of the community this meme was posted on
The 32bit libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4 that all Source 1 games ship with needs to be updated. You can symlink it to your system’s version to get TF2 running again. It’s usually only a matter of time before it starts to effect more downstream distros.
The other problem I have with TF2 is queueing for casual just stops for no discernable reason or error every time, even if I’m not the party host. But then I come back later and it works again? Only real solution I’ve found is to have my friends queue without me and then join after they’ve found a match.
See, I did all that… and then audio broke. So, I couldn’t anymore, man. I probably could’ve copied the install, kept it updated and held it for a resolution but I just don’t demand that much from my builds anymore really. I went with Mint with XFCE and haven’t had a single issue since install. I’m good. If it comes down to Ubuntu’s base, a lot more eyes will be on the problem and I’ll sort it out then.
I install Ubuntu LTS
I try some things
Something fails
I look at forums
I find only cunty answers to ever problem
I delete the vm and install server 2022 core
Yea l knew someone that gave remote access out to one of these scams. Couldn’t be sure they didn’t leave a reverse shell so we just formated the drive and reinstalled windblows.
My Silent Generation mom kept one of these guys on the phone for an hour before telling him she didn’t have a computer. Oh, the language he used afterwards!
Intentional trolling. My mom is sharp and well aware of internet scams. (Well, she was 15ish years ago, when she did this. She’s slowed down a bit of late, but she’s careful to check with one of us to make sure things are on the up-and-up.) She had a blast messing with him.
Is it used for any serious apps? I saw they released the “cosmos” which is very impressive but mostly seemed like basic utils that were already available in Linux/Mac?
