Is it odd because it’s dead, or because it became self-aware and started squirting milk everywhere out of defiance?

Yes.

both stereotypes want to use the government to oppress the other instead of living and let live…i literally have and love both

bdazman,

In the US, the government dispropotionately subsidizes car ownership and punishes cheap/sustainable living with actionable threats of death at the hands of sociopathic truck owners with persecution complexes.

Facebones,

Except drivers actually do that then cry oppression over giving up a foot on the edge of the road, and outright communism if you suggest a partitioned bike lane or improved public transit.

Waggles,

Right…both of these are somehow equally bad /s

What with big bike making people more healthy and being far better for the planet 😓

and if a city is designed right without so many parking lot requirements, travel times become lower, people become safer, noise levels go down dramatically, you appreciate that hopefully well designed city and its businesses, much lower stress levels when commuting, and you feel calmer as well.

RedditWanderer, in She helps when I cook.

For cats it’s important to show them what you have so they can see and smell it, they are much more likely to leave you alone after (unless it’s delicious and they want it).

Wodge, in She helps when I cook.
@Wodge@lemmy.world avatar

I have to show my cats all sorts of stuff, bolts, tools, gamepads, pens. They’re incredibly nosy, not curious, as that kills cats, just nosy and inquisitive.

pete_the_cat,

Your cat: “what the fuck is that?”

Rivalarrival,

From what I’ve read, anything over about 101F is doing more harm than good.

That’s 38C for anyone out of the US

nyoooom,

Pretty sure it’s anything at 42°C or above that is a vital emergency, as it starts to destroy neurons

39°C is basically a normal fever

Acters,

311 Kelvin for anyone who is an absolutist

And

560 Rankine for absolutists who wish to stick with Fahrenheit

Rivalarrival,

38C is a nice handful, not a temperature.

Wergul,

That’s not very high

nickwitha_k,

This does not appear to match the evidence anymore: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7717216/

The body is generally unable to raise the core temperature to the point where it can cause permanent damage, unless the ambient temperature is high. That is, unless there is a pre-existing heart or other vital organ condition.

In fact, fevers >=39C (102.2F) showed better outcomes in covid patients.

OceanSoap,

I thought danger was at 104F??

nickwitha_k,

Apparently, ~108F, but generally, the body needs help to get there.

Finally spotted one in the wild! Starts at 14:19 if the link doesn’t properly work.

lichtmetzger,

I get what he’s saying but I didn’t post this to shit on the game (because I actually enjoyed it). This is a fun meme community and some die-hard fans are taking this waaay too seriously.

He’s also saying “Starfield can’t have the same amount of microdetail everywhere” because of it’s scope and that is certainly true…but water looks really bad throughout the whole game. I wouldn’t call that “micro” ;) Bethesda clearly didn’t put enough resources into this or maybe they had problems implementing better water into the game engine.

Franzia,

I think the problem is that you’ve made a very compelling argument. It’s not a meme. I have zero experience with either if these games and I’m convinced Starfield won’t be interesting to play for years.

OceanSoap, in Better take an advil

Having a fever I can deal with, but I will immediately take some meds to not have a headache. Unfortunately, usually a fever comes with a headache.:(

corsicanguppy, in She helps when I cook.

Our cat was brought up on high protein and indulgence. Everything she wanted to smell, we presented; every sniffable light had a willing Sherpa to get the nose in range. Open the closet door. Added blanket in couch corner arranged for easy use by submarine cat. Toys to carry around.

You better believe she’s there for cooking.
