Let’s go relive that childhood trauma! It sure would be interesting trying to raise my parents into functional adults at that age. I wonder if they’d give me an exorcism?
Taking the red pill operates under the assumption that you’ll actually survive to this point in your life again. Maybe you were one second away from dying in a car accident at several points, and taking that red pill will lead to a series of events that causes your death.
If you look at the usa, less than 0.5% of children die between the ages of 6 and 18. The least likely age for you to die is 8-9 years old, and from about 12 and up the death chance increases pretty rapidly. A 30 year old is already about twice as likely to die as a 19 year old…
so for most people this won’t apply. If you survived abusive or negligent parents though, maybe it’s different
Depending on how old you are there are so many investments that get you far over that 10 mil, but yes healthcare is a really valid point for taking the blue pill
By the same logic, you might be seconds away from dying if you take the blue pill, I don’t think that’s a great argument alone. It’s more a trade of time, letting you try to fix any regrets, relive the frivolous times, and buying yourself extra time, at the cost of having to go through dependent days again.
Does it increase your chance of dying before you can enjoy your reward? Sure.
Does it also increase the amount of time you get to enjoy it, on average? I’d imagine yes.
400 iq play is getting to the red pill multiple times and then taking the blue pill once you’re satisfied with your path. Catch me on NG+10 taking the blue pill
Taking the red pill doesn’t guarantee you’d end up with the same opportunity. If I knew I would be able to return to the same moment where I could take the pill again I’d obviously do that, but probability is slim.
There’s no way you could follow the same path. There are too many narrow chances. I would start again just for the chance to not fuck up my health for 40 years. I feel like the cost would be many of my friends
Let’s say I was 40, no fucking way would I reset and reset and reset.
I assume that you have to reach the same age you first got the pills at. So just 3 resets would be 160 years (+ around 40 more if you stop resetting and die at the average age of death in western countries)
Personally that sounds like torture. Sure groundhog day was fun the first few times but 160 years? No thanks.
Red. Maybe I can stop my mom from being terrible. Also Bitcoin. Also holo first edition Charizard! Also I wanna be in the Fallador massacre on RuneScape! Also I’ll get Internet famous!
Except not since you would have to replicate your current life to the smallest thing imaginable, and if you didn’t it would cause a butterfly effect meaning you probably wouldn’t get this opportunity anymore
I think, if you went back in time and started, for example, trying to get rich playing the stock market, you would be surprised by how much things change with your interference. Like, Bitcoin still goes up, but peaks at a different price. The same team wins the super bowl but by a different score. The longer things go on the weirder it would get.
Blue. No mistake reversion or bitcoin investing would outweigh possibly never meeting my partner again. With Blue, I have everything I could ever want from this life, with red, I may lose everything important to me now.
Absolutely. Anyone who would go back in time purely to make more money is a fool if they think having more than 10 million dollars would make a tangible difference on their quality of life. Who cares if you make a billion off of bitcoin? For 10 mil you can be extremely comfortable and don’t have to relive some of the most awkward years of your life. Only way it would be different is if your choices got someone killed or something.
So true. My wife and I are high school sweet hearts but also both very different people now. The boy she fell in love with initially I couldn’t properly emulate. We were deep into Christianity and even met at church. We’ve since both lost our faith. I wouldn’t be able to pretend without her seeing through my bullshit.
Red pill is too vague. Do you go back in time to when you were 6? If so then red pill is good because you could just achieve all you’ve already achieved faster and you have more time for other stuff. Do you just turn into a 6 year old? No thanks, not about to restart on hard mode.
Also is that time really that valuable if you’re going to spend a significant part of it threading the same ground?
That why I’d take the blue pill, clearer outcome and with 10 mil I could easily improve the quality of my time. For instance by completely ditching work I have much more time to see my children grow up.
Clear outcome? If red is “become undocumented child in 2023” blue can’t be simple.
Blue would have you watching over your shoulder for who the money was taken from, or the money would be taken off you as evidence of crime, since no one has millions from nowhere, and it’ll be very hard to hide
10 million cash instantly would get you killed so fast, just look at ANY article about lottery winners getting their life just absolutely fucked up. Resetting at 6 would suck too but at least you would get something out of it.
It’s not so hard to put it in the bank and hire a wealth management firm. They’ll take care of you and tell you how much you can spend each year without losing money. It’d turn into a free $500k salary for life.
It really isn’t that easy but you are on the right path. First thing you have to do is convert it into a form that nobody is able to withdraw quickly. That removes all almost all incentive for greedy/desperate people to try and kill you for it. Good luck doing that with 10M in cash, though. Large volumes of money are nowhere near as mobile as you think it is.
Not sur if you’re joking but anyway take it easy bud. Things get better over time, dont let bad things and people get the best of you, they are not worth it.
