When I first got on Lemmy I only posted OC. But Ive since realized two things: 1) creating content takes time/effort and 2) no one cares or notices that you’re just doing OC.
So now I sprinkle in reposts if I haven’t seen them on here before.
Family reunions: a time when people who largely don’t care at all about one another get together to pretend they don’t all hate each other’s guts and will temporarily try not to talk shit about the others (this will proceed immediately after), during which they all pretend to want to learn useless info about others and it’s always dominated by the most narcissistic of elderly who want to be listened to and hear their own voice a lot.
I seriously do not understand going the fuck to bed earlier. Just go to bed earlier. Your body adapts over time. Sure schools could move the start time, but if not, just start the sleep sooner.
Working off of memory so take this with a good amount of salt. If I recall correctly, studies have found that teenagers generally don’t go to bed later to match if school starts later, but the same applies the other way too. It may be that they technically could get that sleep by going to bed earlier, but as a society that is not a viable proposal to fix the problems that arise from their lack of sleep.
Also just to make sure I’m not misunderstood, I don’t dispute that individuals can get used to a new sleep schedule or will go to bed earlier if they have to get up earlier, just that it isn’t as easy as waking two hours earlier, means go to sleep two hours earlier for teenagers especially.
I made a reply to another comment in this thread; you might enjoy that one.
You can do so many things with instant ramen to make it better. Of the top of my head, kimchi, tuna, leftover steak, beansprouts, tofu, ricecake, chili powder, a hint of soy sauce, dehydrated onion flakes, garlic powder.
These are all things that will either impart extra flavor into the broth or soak up the flavor of the broth and become extra tasty. Enjoy!
Sorry for the late response. The dumplings go in first, as they will drop the temperature of the water enough to make it boil less consistently. Leave those in for a minute or two.
Next, the noodles and powder. Every other ingredient should go in with respect to the noodle entry time. If you want soft onions and mushrooms, they go in with the noodles. If you want more crunch/snap to the onions or more bite on the mushrooms, put them in a minute late.
I usually use the base of green onion for the broth and use the green portion as a garnish. If you want to copy this, the base goes in with the noodles, chopped in 3/4in (~2cm) lengths. Slice the greens into thin rings or julienne them, and add the greens at the end, after plating.
This always makes instant ramen feel less like a snack and more like a meal to me.
