BilboBargains,

Why is high speed highway driving safer per km if vehicle velocity is a ‘very significant element of road safety’?

The problem, as ever, is retards driving fast on slow roads and slow on fast roads. The camera doesn’t discriminate, it triggers no matter the context. It will trigger the same way for a racing driver with lightening fast reflexes in perfect conditions as it will for tired grandma with cold treacle reaction time driving on snow.

Don’t believe their lies.

BilboBargains,

Using vehicle velocity as risk assessment method is fucking dumb. Might as well put that copper to better use.

BilboBargains,

They’re actually finely calibrated stones. For instance, my weight is 13 stones and a packet of gravel.

BilboBargains,

Hand egg

BilboBargains,

I’m in a similar boat to you regarding mental healthcare. The reason we don’t complain as much as we ought to is because we don’t have much to compare. Our system looks equitable next to America but that one really is the worst. Our healthcare is orders of magnitude worse than our European neighbours, in almost every metric. In Slovakia you don’t need to beg them to see a psychiatrist and wait months or years while the NHS gaslights you. You say, I feel bad and I want to speak to a specialist. That’s it. You get your treatment.

British society is breaking down. We would rather wave flags for an ultra privileged royal family or invade sovereign nations or build aircraft carriers, than take care of our own health. These people are bigoted and hypocritical morons who chose to leave the EU, even though this is the only institution that is safeguarding their rights.

BilboBargains,

Efficient at what, making profit for themselves?

BilboBargains,

It’s only a problem if you identify with America and its mental culture. Which country doesn’t have some unsavoury aspect, past or present? Americans have an incredibly fragile and insecure self conception.

BilboBargains,

It’s nice to meet another great humanitarian. People don’t realise the sacrifices we make in order to safeguard the public from accidental masturbators.

BilboBargains,

Yeah, those guys are walking the high wire and making it look easy. One slip could result in a Dave Chappelle.

BilboBargains,

I love comedy podcasts, The Jeselnek and Rosenthal Vanity Project, a favourite. His style is dark humour and it seems that a significant proportion of the audience actually believe some of the things he jokes about. I think it’s one of the reasons they rarely field audience questions and never phone calls.

BilboBargains,

Finish by eating the sleeve with a nice Chianti.

BilboBargains,

These trees are some of the most fascinating, awe inspiring and majestic life forms I’ve ever had the privilege to witness. I planted three of them in a field (a big space is required) and it makes me happy to think that one day there could be this enormous trio breaking the skyline. I’ll be long gone but they are growing crazy fast already.

BilboBargains,

Is the collective noun for COBOL programmers, cobblers?

BilboBargains, (edited )

There is no relationship between what you earn and your skill level. If there were, theoretical physics would be a top paying field. The reason is, this is capitalism and we are horrible negotiators. If you want to earn top money in a technical field, the best you can do is insert yourself in a revenue stream. Roles that are critical to revenue like a billing system or associated with a intrinsically valuable commodity e.g. petrochemical, are more lucrative than other similarly skilled professions.
