You know what’s funny, I recently read a CNBC business article that said auto-makers are saying consumers aren’t buying enough electric and hybrid vehicles. That supply has outpaced demand. You know what they’re not going to do, drop prices like basic economic theory says they should. According to auto-makers the problem wasn’t that they over estimated how popular their products are, the problem is the consumers not living up to their expectations. If we were good little consumers we’d just take on more debt but apparently we’re not cooperating.
Just remember that I stuck my neck out for you. We’ve got a lot work coming in and I’ll need you to pick up some of the slack. Who knows, maybe this time next year you could be a team leader and switch over to salary. It opens a lot of opportunities.
In the first game I remember charging about $5.00 or something for the bathroom. Easiest fake money I’ve ever made to fuel the construction of my psychopathic murder rides.
I absolutely agree, but so long as it remains profitable developers will do it. Skip a whole lot of QC, rush to release the game, then use the launch to gather bug reports and fix those. Costs saved not hiring a ton of QC testers, get a return on the investment much sooner, get early players to pay to be QC testers basically. It’s a tried and tested formula now and it will keep happening until too many people won’t pre-order games.
If you’re saying everyone is providing your point, I think you disproved your own point.
They’re doing it because we are conditioned to want it.
Conditioning a behavior is basic psych101. It’s a controlled external stimulus which illicits a desirable action from the subject. So a conditioned consumer is subject to external stimulie which illicits them to spend. I wouldn’t blame the subject here, I’d blame the one doing the conditioning.
Regardless of all that, you are right but so wrong. We are all to blame, but I mean corporations and us. Politicians and the oligarchs aren’t responsible for what you or I do. What they are responsible for is manipulating systems to benefit themselves over the interests of the general public.
Since politicians and the business elite wield so much influence that makes them more responsible than you or I who really can’t make a big difference on our own. You’re blaming the proletariat for being the proletariat, but we don’t choose whether or not we are. You can work as hard as you can your entire life and you’ll never amount to the level of power and influence Elon, Jeff, Mark, Bill, or Steve had/have.
Whatever costume you choose this Halloween, make sure to wash it with Torgo’s Executive Powder. Torgo’s Executive Powder; when your costumes stinks like a Omicronian’s feet, only trust Torgo’s Executive Powder.
Yours, mine, and everyone else’s happiness has value. I get that’s not the point you were trying to make. All I am trying to say is that a utilitarian approach to your own happiness will almost always leave you unhappy. You deserve to be happy just as much as anyone else.
Your faith is lacking slag. The God Emperor of All Mankind is already here leading Mankind to glory over the xenos and has been for millennia. He has chosen to not reveal himself to us yet. Accelerating our approach to the age of strife is blasphemy. What if we build the black hole cannons too early and they’ve degraded too much when the Adeptus Mechanicus excavate them. Have faith in the God Emperor’s plan slag and rejoice in your duty.
Only 12, c’mon now most of these guys are working 14 or more. You’re young, you should be putting in the hours. We’re really busy right now and we really need everyone to step up and do their part. Besides work ebes and flows, right now we have a lot but we won’t always.
/S if that wasn’t obvious. You only get one life, don’t sell it away.
I don’t understand why this is such a hard thing for people and government to understand. Your car isn’t going to a place, you and the stuff you need to carry are. The car is just the means and there are many other means to do so, they just get a lot less attention and funding. Cars and traffic infrastructure have been subsidised for over a century now. Of course cars more developed, and of course we build our cities for cars, we’re socializing cars.
Yes, there are many areas that have been developed so car focused that it’s a necessity to own a car. People living in rural areas will always need personal cars. People in urban and suburban areas probably don’t and should give up their personal vehicles so Farmer can keep theirs.
Is there a RasPi alternative that’s competitive in price and has PCI-e support? It’s been a dream project of mine for quite some time to pair an ultra low power SoC to a GPU in order to make a crazy overpowered Folding@Home or BOINC cluster.
As an adult who had to sit with a first grader to make sure they stayed in their zoom classes, I couldn’t agree more. I don’t hold a grudge against her teacher, we were all doing our best. It was just impossible to keep a first grader focused on her laptop for more than 20 min at best.
Which goes back to the saying “you can’t use the masters tools to tear down the masters house.” Which I disagree with, you can’t use the masters tools to build your own house but you can and should use any and every tool available to you to tear down the masters house.
With that said, us being observers at best, you can just feel bad about the whole thing. It’s okay to just feel bad that bad things are happening, you don’t need to force that feeling to pick a side. There is no both sides argument, but people on both sides are getting hurt and it’s okay to not feel okay about that.
