What are some food items that cost less than what they "should"?

Bananas are ridiculously cheap even up here in Canada, and they aren’t grown anywhere near here. Yet a banana can grow, be harvested, be shipped, be stocked, and then be purchased by me for less than it’d cost to mail a letter across town. (Well, if I could buy a single banana maybe…or maybe that’s not the best...

Kit,

Ramen always surprises me by how it remains consistently cheap

Kit,

I donate to a local group that provides housing for homeless youth. Before donating, always check where the money actually goes - there’s a few good websites for this that breaks down the org’s budget for CEO pay, marketing, etc.

Ah you think darkness is your ally? You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it.

A more literal translation would be “Wait, you think darkness is really cool? You actually just leaned into (or stole) the darkness, you idiot. I’m serious. Not to brag, but I feel the darkness strongly, no lie.”

Kit,

Why not just pay $2/yr for a domain on Name Cheap? They have a dynamic DNS solution.

Kit,

Sir this is a shitposting community. I believe you’re looking for LiveJournal.

Kit,

I’d settle for a Bible written in plain, modern English. The closest I could find was Word on the Street but it was a white guy trying to write like a gangsta and it fell a bit flat.

Kit,

Meal planning carefully to take advantage of sales, buy in bulk when possible, and eliminate food waste. I have my meals planned out through the end of January and I do this every month. The money I spend on groceries has halved since I started using this approach.

Kit,

Porque no los dos?

Kit,

Ma’am this is a shitposting community. It’s supposed to be a horrible take, and that’s the joke.

Kit,

BREAKING: Asshole gets shown the door in places he is not welcome

Kit,

After having some nice intimate time, during the quiet afterglow, ask her how her self esteem has been lately. Maybe she’s feeling down and wants to talk about it.

Once her feelings are in the open it will be easier to feel out a solution.

Kit,

Duolingo. Why can’t I just pay $100 or whatever one time? Languages don’t change to the extent that it needs to be a subscription.

Kit,

Yet another reason to love the furries. I’m not a furry myself but they do great things for many geek spaces.

Kit,

Wouldn’t citizens be expected to raise their own chickens, which would provide eggs? That’s how it was in the US so I assume it’s the same overseas.

Kit,

I can’t wait til we as a society get over shaming small dicks. I don’t have a dick but it’s cringy to me when people use “small dick” as an insult like this.

Kit,

No. Check out the video of the guy who left his Switch OLED on nonstop for a year. Expect similar results from the Steam Deck. (Spoiler: You have nothing to worry about.)

Kit,

Wrong. Christmas begins promptly on November 1st. He is already here.

Kit,

Sir this is a meme board. Childish is all we do.

Kit,

I don’t give af if my president has horrible hair or a terrible fake tan, as long as they have good policies. There’s a million bad things to say about Trump but picking on his looks just serves to divide us instead of focusing on real issues. Hell my senator looks like Lurch and wears basketball shorts instead of suits but he’s doing great things, so I support him.

Kit,

This is yet another intimidation tactic. I have a 1200 day streak on Duolingo because the owl bullies me and I am weak.

Kit,

It also means that remote employers can pay less for better talent due to the intense competition. It’s somewhat of a win-win, as it results in cost savings for companies while allowing workers to choose if they prefer flexibility of remote work versus a higher paycheck. I imagine that the pay doesn’t make much of a difference in pocket money when considering commuting costs and higher CoL in areas closer to jobs.

Kit,

ConcernedApe is a national treasure.
