Old laptops will still run pretty good if you run lightweight Linux distribution and give it some RAM upgrade and maybe SSD as well. I still wouldn’t use them as my main computer, as I’d rather have a lot better specs and ability to run Win10/Win11 flawlessly, but it’s still a good option.

I cringe every time when someone compares a single Windows version to a whole distribution, and some of them even have more versions than Windows.

If there’s one thing I’d want AI to do is to organize my music library :)

Although I don’t unerstand why can’t Spotify just give me list of artists/genres/etc. that I listen to and allow me to play only specific ones. I could even do that on my freakin old iPod Nano and it’s year 2024 for god sake! But from what I see Spotify programmers are more busy with removing features than adding anything useful nowadays. I am also still mad that they have removed radio feature and they didn’t provide an alternative.

It may be unpopular opinion, but I prefer this mechanic than enemies scaling their level with you. This is also why I love older Piranha Bytes titles (Gothic 1, 2 and Risen), as beating tough enemies that you encountered many times and couldn’t beat before because you had previously weak character is the best thing ever.

You can explore a cave and not be a dumbass.

I like caves (been to like only 2 or 3 though, lol), but if I become stupid enough to trap myself in one, I hope no one would risk a life to rescue me. That’s what’s actually the worst thing about situations like this.

Something like this happened to me few times. I posted code, and asked whether ChatGPT could optimize it, and explain how. So it have first explained in points stuff that could be improved (mostly irrelevant or wrong) and then posted the same code I have sent.

Over-consumption loop.

You work hard for money -> so you buy unnecessary stuff since you earned it -> you have no money -> you work hard for money…

I have quit this loop by limiting my consumption to minimum. My friends ask me why don’t I buy X if I can easily afford it and it will make my life better. Well, not better enough to justify waste of both my money/time and Earth’s resources to manufacture something.

Also over-consumption is a fuel to capitalist dystopia.
