Lmao.

Well, those of us who’ve actually been intimate with and listened to women over the years understand that, while just a Hollywood movie, Barbie was a reasonably accurate commentary on how shitty this whole farce of “men do it best (yes everything)” winds up sucking for both men and women (and all in between).

What didn’t you like? Did you expect a movie about toys coming to our world to have a haunting belabored plot that explored every realm of literary significance? Or are you sad that it made men being stupid actually as ridiculous as it looks?

I don’t really care. My dick works great, I wouldn’t do this to my kids but my parents trusted the doctor. I still love my parents anyway.

E: also, this illustrated girl looks really weird, and this is a really weird conversation. Real women do not look like this, and I wouldn’t get naked in front of a girl who looked like this. Eeesh.

“I don’t care”, followed by: “I won’t do that to my kids”

Clown: “ambivalent, learn how to write”.

Coupla corn dogs short of a circus, there.

Shut the fuck up, low quality clown. Education is me not doing this to my kids.

Please learn how to read.

I work in alternative energy and such. No need to give up your morals. Maybe you won’t make as much, but that sleep feels so good and without qualms.

If you look at NYC’s mayoral timeline, you’ll see David Dinkins ahead of him for just one term, 90-94.

In my opinion, he was the real solver of our crime issues, as besides the overall economy starting to escape the republican shitstorm of Reaganomics, we started the PAL program (Police Athletic League) and used some anti-crime money to keep schools open later.

This is a key point here, most crime was being committed by bored young men of school age, so instead of letting them out at 3 till their parent(s) got off work, PAL and other after-school programs let them hang out with friends, shoot basketball or take fun classes, etc. People had the ability to stay out of trouble a lot more easily, and for free.

First year of Dinkins, homicide peaks. Then it starts trending sharply down, statistics backed by the first ever computerized crime ledger, compstat. That first year made everyone think Dinkins was ineffective, so Giuliani got his shot. But all Giuliani did was coast on Dinkins work, besides posting cops in visible places like MTA turnstiles.

I really want to write a long screed about how shitty of a mayor who couldn’t win a single lawsuit Giuliani was, but I think airing out how much better his precessor was would hurt his image even more.

But I’ll say this: that whole nightclub scene NYC used to be famous for? Killed by Giuliani. There were nightclubs where you were in shoulder-high bubbles, dancing or more if you wanted. Famous places too, that one spot in the east village that was a bankrupt church, converted into a goth nightclub… just memories because of a sensitive bitch fuckhead named Giuliani.

The gleeful “recalibration” is what is dark about this.

Hi friend, please reread and note the caveat, “one of the very first”, which position number 5 certainly includes.

Also, a bit childish to want to rank systems based on creation date. If you feel like “losing”, please read on:

  • NYC total system length is about 800 miles (1.1km)
  • yearly ridership: 1.8bn rides
  • If we count the el’s (elevated rapid transit, which is still running), first ride was in iirc 1868.

But look, the important thing is that both our countries (presuming you live in the UK) have nice mass transit systems to keep cars off the roads. I look forward to visiting your country and riding its underground system at some point.

Having worked for the MTA on the subway system years back, I invite you all to remember that we built one of the very first subway systems in the world, definitely first in scale, knowing we’d make mistakes in implementation, along with a lot of successful ideas.

Everyone else learns from our mistakes, we gladly hosted the engineering team from Los Angeles and Bangkok when they wanted to share notes with us.

With almost 200miles/320km of public tracks, this is easily the most successful mass transit system internationally. "BuT gWaFiTi BaD :( "

Give it a rest, posers.

I remember finding this game in black and white on a 386 “laptop” that ran windows 3.1, bought for $5 at a thrift shop on a curious whim, back in 2006. Thing was more of a lugtop, easily 15lbs.

Not sure how but I accidentally found myself in this game.

Hey cope, thanks for the reply. Consider how we use alcohol to make things like turkey, pork etc tender. Alcohol breaks down fibrous connective tissue, so your bourbon-bbq pulled pork is especially soft and succulent the longer it’s been marinated.

Now, consider what happens in your body. A toxic solvent agent reaching all corners of your body, vs an irritating cloud of ash which gets trapped in your alveoli. Neither is good, but evidence strongly suggests that it’s harder to hurt yourself with flower vs booze.

For the record, I partake in both on occasion, but I definitely think alcohol is worse for me, personally. Everybody’s different.

Water weighs about 8lbs/gallon (1kg/L). When you’re eating soup, the actual flavors/salts/veggies take up about 20% of the weight, tops. Additionally, volume is far decreased, so you can have more food in a smaller container. Finally, bacteria have nothing to work with in material without water. Just add your local water when you need it, it’s already there.

So, buy dry goods to reduce shipping costs for both you and the producer. Ship only the food part of food, not the water. The costs are much lower, for all the reasons above.

I cook a lot, I strongly agree with avoiding things that only do one thing.

That slapchop looks real handy, don’t it? Wait till you gotta clean it. Any time savings are instantly lost, and now you have nooks and crannies for bacteria/detritus to hide in.

Look, generally speaking: if you don’t see professionals using something, there’s likely a good reason for it. Maybe you’re doing something smarter than a pro. But that’s rare, remember that.

Sigh. This guy again.

Check out OPs other posts, don’t interact as s/he/it wastes everyone’s energy, exactly as the question indicates. Beware.

Don’t forget how lonely people are now. There’s an initial ‘weird guy’ thing one has to get over when talking with someone unexpectedly here in the US.

“Hey, I like the style of that jacket, can I ask where you got it?” People are morose about how alone they feel, but struggle to escape the “rugged individualism” programming of this country, to where they default to feeling safer by shrinking back for a second, before realizing they can, and do, have space to honestly interact with someone else who doesn’t actually want something from them. Well, other than pleasant acknowledgement of our short existence at the same place and time.

It’s so much wasted plastic though. I 3D printed a handle and with a little sandpaper to smooth the handle out, it’s super easy to floss. Using this one currently: www.printables.com/model/…/comments
