In the end, the KIA car company made its cars into subscription models, I really hate this because in the end the car we buy with our own money doesn’t feel like it belongs to us. Should we finally buy an old school car ? so as not to be affected by this subscription models or is there a way to crack the software installed in...
Don’t think about the one actual subscription service here. Think about all of the features that are technologically built into the car that you can’t access without paying a subscription fee.
If she joined Lemmy then I could block her account and I wouldn’t have to see her comics (as I did on Reddit). As it stands I don’t really want to block OPs account since they post and comment lots of different stuff. It’s nice to be able to block a specific creator from their own account rather than play whack-a-mole with freebooters.
And before people start saying I’m misogynist or something, I’m not. There are plenty of women webcomic artists I like. Extraordinary Comics and War and Peas just to name a couple. I just find pizzacake to be incredibly boring, low hanging fruit and barely even funny at all. Not trying to hurt feelings, I just don’t like her stuff and prefer to block it from my feed.
You’re allowed to return home anytime you want. Just walk your character into their bedroom, tuck them into bed, save, exit to the main menu, and delete the save. Congratulations, you have just completed the alternate ending to Pokémon.
Depending on what country you’re in, it’s either a resumé, or a supplement to a resumé that summarizes academic achievements for an applicant with a graduate degree.
Should add Reddit. Started out as FOSS, closed down their GitHub, then killed their API which killed dozens of third party integrations impacting hundreds of thousands of users.
I know this isn’t strictly piracy related, I apologise, but I think it is tangentally related in that piracy protects you from data theft by avoiding the services the biggest thieves operate. Also, I feel like people here might be very interested in this take....
$53 is a lot less than I would have expected honestly. But I guess that’s a mean average figure. It’s going to be practically worthless for poorer people. And since wealth is not evenly distributed, and since personal data of people with disposable income is worth a lot more, the average internet user’s data is probably worth a lot more.
I honestly don’t get this one… Like I get the comic but unless there’s something I’m missing I don’t understand the actual joke here. I know it’s a typical Far Side “what if humans, but animals?” comic, but I don’t get what’s being swapped out here. Is the joke that flies would call the news “poop”? Is the joke that the actual news is that there is poop?
I hope someday we'll find a way to pirated a car (lemmy.world)

Just saw the discussion around the Haier Home Assistant takedown and thought it would be good to materialize the metaphorical blacklist.
So I finally did the math on data brokerage and worked out how much we're all being robbed
