fmstrat,

The article says the messages will go to the cloud but supplies no references. Half of the article is also answers from Bard. What is this garbage?

fmstrat,

Just because you do something so crazy fast in your head it seems obvious, doesn’t mean you didn’t do the thing you did with the thing.

fmstrat,

Everyone repeats “Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?”

But no one repeats the follow-up of “But what is today, except yesterday’s tomorrow?”

fmstrat,

But Mr. Krabs would be unhappy.

I hope someday we'll find a way to pirated a car (lemmy.world)

In the end, the KIA car company made its cars into subscription models, I really hate this because in the end the car we buy with our own money doesn’t feel like it belongs to us. Should we finally buy an old school car ? so as not to be affected by this subscription models or is there a way to crack the software installed in...

“Woman throws out old photos after divorce, person tracks her down to remind her.”

Note: Not what acutually happened, but how did they know?

fmstrat,

Depends on the sim. A good example would be Elite Dangerous. Buy the right HOTUS, put it in the right place, and when you don the headset, you see the controls you have.

So I finally did the math on data brokerage and worked out how much we're all being robbed

I know this isn’t strictly piracy related, I apologise, but I think it is tangentally related in that piracy protects you from data theft by avoiding the services the biggest thieves operate. Also, I feel like people here might be very interested in this take....

fmstrat,

Oh interesting, I didn’t know there was a citation feature but can’t see them in Thunder. PR time perhaps.

fmstrat,

You can use Obtainium instead of F-droid. You can install Izzy, FD, or even better, direct from GitHub and other repos instead.

fmstrat,

Marge is in the back with her hair down.

fmstrat,

Lots of good Rocco’s, but if you need to balance price and still get a high end machine, Lenovo Carbon. Runs fantastic out of the box, including S3/etc.

Greenland startup begins shipping glacier ice to cocktail bars in the UAE (www.theguardian.com)

Arctic Ice harvests ice from the fjords of Greenland, and then ships them to the United Arab Emirates to sell to exclusive bars. Using glacial ice in drinks is a common practice in Greenland, and, over the years, several entrepreneurs have unsuccessfully attempted to export it....

fmstrat,

I put this in the cross post, bit figure it belongs here, too:

While ridiculous, there’s interesting context here.

  • Greenland has little to no economy
  • The ice is mined from ice that has already broken away from the glacier, thus not reducing any more than nature has already
  • Cargo ships bringing frozen food used to leave empty, now that same fuel is used to transport ice back instead of going to waste
  • The founder has always dreamed of a sustainable economy for Greenland
  • He is conflicted about how his work to do this in a sustainable way is being taken

Lots of gray here.

fmstrat,

If you don’t already have one, use Kavita instead. It’s newer, has surpassed the Komga interface, and is still supported on T.

fmstrat,

Ahh, I tag my media using Mylar3, which adds a ComicInfo.xml to each file. Kavita seems to prioritize that over the filesystem.

fmstrat,

Oh, Komga is good, I just find everything about Kavita to be more modern. More options for layouts, deeper filtering, tablet and more phone friendly UI, etc.

fmstrat, (edited )

No, we write a bash script to install whatever it is and put it in a software folder that is synced on our next new install. This script also has to be updated every time, but, you get it.

fmstrat,

Where is the red spot on the toilet?

fmstrat,

Funny, but mostly true due to timing. You have a lot more sunsets and sunrises outside of work and home than you do on holiday or with the time you are able to take out in nature.

fmstrat,

Cherry picking probably won’t work on Lemmy:

Obama overcame the sunset provisions and made the tax cuts permanent for single people earning less than $400,000 per year and couples making less than $450,000 per year, but did not stop the sunset provisions from applying to higher incomes, under the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_tax_cuts

fmstrat,

2012, but not for incomes over $400/450K.

fmstrat,

Oh I’m happy to criticize or congratulate anyone who makes a poor or good decision. It will be my opinion, of course 😉
