frunch,

Welcome to Barnes & Staples & Kohl’s & DunkinDonuts/Baskin Robbins & Noble

These are all reasons why they actually enjoy immigration. As a hot-button topic, this has paid out endlessly and will continue to because there’s no way immigration will be solved peacefully. So they get the fearmongering and political outrage out of it, in addition to cheap labor, and bogeymen to pin rape/violence on as well. They’re the perfect target for them to hate, and they love to hate. Nothing gets an old Republican fired up like illegal Mexicans coming here with their guns and drugs and taking our jobs and sending all the money back home and raping our daughters (“well not my daughter, but y’know” 🤠 ) and bringing caravans more of em in their wake

frunch,

Can Hertz be imperial or are they strictly metric?

frunch,

(That’s also when I realised my relatives never call me to share good news or to ask about me.)

I feel that in my bones, mate

Same here! I joined lemmy right around the time my main hdd took a dump–so there was probably a bit of influence coming from here…While scrambling to get another windows installed (and encountering a bunch of obstacles along the way) i finally decided to just try Linux Mint Cinnamon. Tbh, i wasn’t sure if my computer was bricked by the time i finally got mint to start up via usb. When it started working, i tried a few basic things–browsing the web, playing music, videos etc. When it all worked with a minimal amount of fuss, i decided it was time to give up windows if i could. Haven’t been back to windows since!

I’m in the same boat. I like having physical copies of my favorite games, music, movies, and shows. I also like supporting the artists/productions, so it’s a win-win that i can buy their products. I’ve always struggled to understand why someone would pay the same price (or nearly as much) for a strictly-digital copy.

Making everything fully digital has its advantages but i never once thought it would act as a complete replacement for physical media.

frunch,

All your posts look the same.

frunch,

They happen every 4 years (but the campaigning never stops), so buckle up buttercup 😬

You can probably filter certain keywords to avoid a lot of this crap though

frunch,

I started laughing because i thought the exchange somehow led to them switching to an android phone towards the end 😅

frunch, (edited )

For real, you sold me on that trackball. That sounds like the coolest feature a phone could have, right down to the multi-color led built in beneath it. I really really hope we see a return to something like that! Touch screens are very useful and have their place but physical buttons/controls are usually preferred when done properly. Here’s a pic of the Nexus 1, that trackball indeed appears to be cool as fuck:

frunch,

Interesting!! I’ll have to check that one out. I was a big fan of Moraff’s World and i played a lot of Steve Moraff’s other shareware games back in the day. Never heard of that one though!

frunch,

Agreed! There’s definitely better places for discourse on the Internet–especially nowadays

frunch,

Thanks for taking the time to break that down for me. I will just go ahead and attack my own reading comprehension–i never would have deduced that from their comment, no way.

frunch,

What does your comment mean though? Feel free to attack my reading comprehension but i don’t actually think your comment is making a statement. Distill it so my slow ass understands and maybe (and that’s a big maybe) we can try to have some sort of conversation. Judging by the downvotes i presume your opinion is unpopular–i just don’t understand it well enough to see why.

frunch,

It would help if people would stop being deliberately obtuse for the sake of sounding intelligent while making a political statement. Wtf does your comment even mean, lol

frunch,

Wow, that seems particularly odd to me. People don’t want their parents to know where they live? Sounds like they had a rough childhood more than a penchant for extreme privacy, but wtf do i know ¯_(ツ)_/¯

frunch,

This is to the point where there are YouTube videos where people cut away little bits of space between sentences just so there isn’t even a second of calm

Omg, i really, really don’t like that. It took a little while before i began noticing it but now i can’t ignore it anytime it’s happening. I simply won’t watch those videos because i won’t be able to focus for very long. It can be especially jarring how they’ll cut from one sentence into the next one and the editing makes it seem like their head glitched into another spot. I won’t follow any YouTubers that do this stuff, I’ll find something else to watch ¯_(ツ)_/¯

frunch,

Please don’t be offended, but maybe you just need to hang out with better memes breh 👐

frunch,

Are you guys making your own echo chamber in the middle of an echo chamber? Seems rather echonomical ¯_(ツ)_/¯

frunch,

This conversation reminds me of the first couple times i surfed Reddit over a decade ago. It was so cool to be in a place where intelligent and interesting discussion was happening… Wish i could contribute something useful to it, but i just want to thank you all for carrying that kind of energy into the '20s 🥂

frunch,

Are The Roads in The Villages? It would make sense, since those are The Only Places…

frunch,

The shop-rite in my area has both express (10 items or less) and regular/no-limit self-check outs.
