My favorite thing about Lemmy is that you can comment on an article that’s several hours old and get responses. Reddit was so big that if you didn’t comment on major articles within a couple minutes of being posted, your comment would get buried under a thousand other comments and would never be seen. Commenting became a game of which top level comment you could possibly sneak your comment as a response to, even if it wasn’t really a “response” to what the person had said, just to get your comment seen and have a chance at sparking a discussion.
That reminded me of a time at work where some testing on our project required opening some large XML files. We were using Notepad++ to open them and format them so we could easily examine them. My boss complained about how bad Notepad++ sucked because it was sooooo slooooow to open.
I checked his computer and it turned out that while he would close Notepad++, he never actually closed the file tabs. So every time he opened a new file, it was adding to the hundreds of open XML files. He was literally opening several GBs of XML files every time he launched the app. Frankly, it made me even more impressed with Notepad++ because I would have assumed most other apps would’ve been crushed.
Haha I’m guessing he was just in an argumentative mood and assumed all replies would be fighting with him. Sometimes that adrenaline kicks in when you see an Inbox notification.
Why does he always hold his arms straight down with his palms turned in and his fingers slightly spread like that? There’s no way that’s a natural posture, but he looks like that all the time. Did someone coach his posture to try to mimic Trump? Because it looks awful.
Exactly. It’s gotta be a variant of “these edibles ain’t shit” or “these edibles are weak as fuck”. Then you have to stand up 30 minutes later and BAM!
Yeah, living in Colorado has always been weird hearing that we’re “the west”. We’re about as middle of the country as you can get. 3 states to our west to get to the Pacific, 4 states to the east to get to the Atlantic.
Many years from now you’ll be on your deathbed, surrounded by loved ones. Before slipping away peacefully, you will share with them your only regret in life… not eating more pizza.
