Yeah mine has gotten worse over time as well. When I was a teenager, I could eat anything. Now if I get a half scoop of the Chipotle hot salsa on my burrito, I’ll start feeling it 3 or 4 hours later. It sucks.
Sorry, that was a very personal reference to a neighbor of mine. He does it all the time, so she’ll do stuff like make dinner and then he just doesn’t come home. When she texts him to find out if he’s working late, he’ll be like “I had to fly to Montana for work.”
He’s the most stereotypical stubborn Republican that I can imagine. He considers himself a libertarian because he doesn’t want to pay taxes for pesky things like roads and schools. But he also has very strong feelings that women shouldn’t be able to get abortions, which shouldn’t really jive with the small government thing. He’s a solid red voter down ballot every election.
I have to drop my daughter off at dance class for 45 minutes every week. Fortunately there’s a Taco Bell nearby that led me to discover the wonder that is Baja Blast Zero. Now it gives me something to look forward to every week.
Is it really less weight though? If you have to carry in the towels and carry in the water, then combine them, isn’t that the same as carrying them already combined? Same thing with space. You’re compressing the towel but you still have to carry in the water.
Can’t believe I had to scroll down this far to find Walmart. No one does small business destroying, union busting, supplier squeezing, and employee exploitation quite like the Walton family.
Exactly dude. He’s sold 10,000,000+ books and the pressure is clearly too much for him. And while we can’t unsell those books for him, the best we can do is spread the word far and wide that Patrick Rothfuss writes like old people fuck. If we each do our best to discourage new fans from jumping on the hype train, we just might have a shot at getting the 3rd Kingkiller Chronicles book before we die.
Just finished his 4 secret project books. Also just finished the first Mistborn trilogy with my son and started in on the Wax and Wayne series with him (I’ve already read them). I freaking love me some Brandon Sanderson.
Solar is awesome. It’s so cheap now that it’s a no brainer if you own a house that you’re planning on staying in for any decent amount of time. It’s cheaper than paying the electric company in most cases, and if you have a battery then it’s more reliable as well.
That reminded me of a time at work where some testing on our project required opening some large XML files. We were using Notepad++ to open them and format them so we could easily examine them. My boss complained about how bad Notepad++ sucked because it was sooooo slooooow to open.
I checked his computer and it turned out that while he would close Notepad++, he never actually closed the file tabs. So every time he opened a new file, it was adding to the hundreds of open XML files. He was literally opening several GBs of XML files every time he launched the app. Frankly, it made me even more impressed with Notepad++ because I would have assumed most other apps would’ve been crushed.
Exactly. It’s gotta be a variant of “these edibles ain’t shit” or “these edibles are weak as fuck”. Then you have to stand up 30 minutes later and BAM!
To my knowledge there’s no stagnant water on my property, I’ve run water through all my ptraps, and I’m careful to not leave doors open. Yet at any given time there’s at least 3 in my house. I can’t sleep, i can’t sit on the couch, i can’t exist in the fear of being sucked dry....
I would also include a clause that says I never have to see it ever. It can basically be a roommate that lives in the basement and has their own entrance in the garage.
Not sure if this is good or bad news for our great (10^6) grandchildren. On the one hand, maybe they’ll see less spiders. On the other hand, urban-camo spiders sounds horrifying.
I don't use Kbin, so this is a fediverse thing in general. But the biggest thing I struggle with is multiple communities getting added in different places for the same thing. Most people don't want to check Ask Lemmy, Ask Kbin, and Ask a dozen different spots. They just want it all in one consolidated place like Ask Reddit.
I feel like an app could help solve that by aggregating the communities into one view. But even then, you'd likely get a lot of reposts stemming from the individual communities. Not sure if there could ever be a solution for this, since it's the biggest selling point of the fediverse.
