Does AI-generated art posted on lemmy bother you?

I find that i can spot AI Images fairly easily these days, especially the sort of fantastical tableaus that get posted to the various AI communities around lemmy. I’m tired of seeing them; it all looks the same to me. Was wondering if im being too sensitive, or if other people are similarly bored of the constant unimaginative...

I laugh at people bitching about their pay. Move. On. Why would the company suddenly throw you a 20% raise!? Out of the goodness of their heart?

My last 3 jobs (top pay): $14 -> $22 -> $39. At this point I could probably jump ship for more but I’m quite content to retire out of this place.

Stay put 3-5 years, gain experience, jump. When we moved here my buddy took a job at an oil change place, barely above min wage and far below his skillset. Kept job hopping and now he’s making $120K+.

Meh, middle-aged white guy here. Got 3 kilts and they’re not so great. Kinda fun in the woods. Went to a party last winter with camo girl leggings and it was super nice. But usually, nah.

The women I dated were hardly conservative, or they wouldn’t be with me, and not a one liked 'em, visibly turned off. YMMV.

Went to my regular Mexican place the other day and the waiter starts rattling off Spanish to my wife. My wife is Pilipino.

She didn’t know what was going on and replied with the handful of words she knows. I was LMAO internally.

This may sound a little… odd, but it changed me, and I think on it from time to time.

Reading some old Star Wars book decades back, maybe the Thrawn series? One of the Imperial commanders was taking his time, strolling to where he was going.

Because, he thought to himself, people in a hurry were not happy where they were, always rushing about to get somewhere else. We was perfectly content where he was.

Anyhow, something to think on.

Pay and benefits are awesome. After my wife got the list of rules? "Babe. Do NOT take that job."

  • Late by 30 seconds, fired 3rd time, no exceptions. (This is in the middle of nowhere on the interstate. She would have to show up 40 minutes early to ensure no traffic issues.)
  • Can’t enter the store before your shift.
  • Can’t leave the store during your shift.
  • You must take a particular path to go to the breakroom.
  • You cannot go outside.
  • If anyone spots a tat on your flesh? Fired instantly.

There’s more I’m forgetting. This place thinks because of the good pay and benefits that they own you soul.

Agrarian South vs. Industrialized North made for an unfair trade balance. You can hardly trade a bale of cotton for a steam engine, that kinda idea I believe. Been 30+ since college American History, forgot the exact gripes.

We could probably find these disputes in the various Letters of Secession. They almost all start with slavery, but there were other complaints.

EDIT: I was wrong. The letters are almost 100% “bla, bla, bla, we’re being treated unfairly and we’re leaving.” Surprisingly little mention of slavery, but get a load of Mississippi’s letter! LOL my god, y’all just gonna have to read that one yourself. (I had always assumed that letter was typical and I was wrong.)

EDIT: Oh fuck me, I’m wrong again. The linked are merely the official ordinances, not Letters of Succession. Hence why they’re all dry legalese. But I did arouse your curiosity about Mississippi, so here go their letter.
