I said “you’re absolutely right” and left it at that. They were trying to get to the idea that mental illness is made up and shit like that. I don’t feed into that sort of stuff so the conversation didn’t carry on after that lol.
The anticheat for a game I liked to play with my wife didn’t work on Linux and playing in a VM barely worked due to the game’s outdated spaghetti code. It was more important to me at the time because the game was how I met her and at the time we weren’t dating yet, she was just a friend I was crushing on big time, enough to reinstall windows for her.
We don’t even really play it anymore, so maybe I’ll switch back to Linux. I still got mint installed on dual boot, just never thought about starting it up until now. I always did like how a couple of terminal commands could fix like, 99% of issues whereas windows says “Noooo… You have to reinstall me for the 20,000th time! It’s the only way!”
“Why not? You and I are eccentrics. We’re certainly not typical of the people living on Terminus. As for criminals, that’s a matter of definition. And if criminals are the price we must pay for rebels, heretics, and geniuses, I’m willing to pay it. I demand the price be paid. […] You can’t have geniuses and saints without having people far outside the norm, and I don’t see how you can have on only one side of the norm. There is bound to be a certain symmetry.” - Foundation and Earth by Isaac Asimov
In the settings is a “Migrate subreddits” button which you can load in your multi Reddit of all your subscriptions and it’ll show you subs on lemmy that are an exact or close match to easily subscribe
It doesn’t have to be a button. Just let users see how many other users saw their comment. If a user scrolls into the comments section and stops on my comment for a second or two, that counts as a read.
Alternatively, tally up the total number of user-seconds spent viewing my comment. Or maybe an average. Just something that lets me know I’m not a ghost!
Course I have my own biases but. I don’t want to see people get downvoted for saying things I don’t like just because I don’t like it. Also anyone who downvotes honest questions is just being mean.
Sometimes if there's a good deal for something I know I want. For instance, I was wanting an RG35XX (portable retro console). I had never heard about Temu, went there and got the $100 off bundle (basically a set of thresholds to hit for up to $100 off). I found the RG35XX for $53 ($17 less than Amazon), and that coupon knocked it down to $28. For me that was a no brainer.
I’m using it when looking for specific information about specific topics (tutorials, product reviews) but I haven’t looked at the front page since the announcement
Only to view NSFW images when I really don’t have any other option. I don’t have an account anymore though so usually it’s not worth the trouble. Lemmy really just doesn’t have the diversity reddit did with that yet.
OP, not only are you a sexist moron, but you have proven to also be a humble idiot aware of his mistakes.
I have no issues seeing porn on here because I don't have the maturity of a child like you do, and I hope one day you will grow up and not allow a harmless nipple to set you off.
