A and B every time because if the machine "predicts" you take both, you get 1kk usd, if the machine "predicts" you take only B, you get 1.1kkk usd. It's a free million dollars at least. Buy a house and invest the rest.

AlmightySnoo, in I need to survive for 3 days without pooping, and eating as little as possible. I can pee, but not very often. It can't take up too much space. What food do I pack?
@AlmightySnoo@lemmy.world avatar

Just keep pushing it back inside when it tries to come out.

moreeni,

Why push it? You can just glue your ass, think smarter, not harder

Brother/sister/sibling, please just poop.

Is the goal to keep the poop inside your body? If it's allowed to come out and play, you could blend it with gatorade and consume it as soon as possible to minimize time spent outdoors.

DaedalousIlios, in Why does Lemmy feel so fresh compared to Reddit?
@DaedalousIlios@pawb.social avatar

I think there's many contributing factors. I actually was thinking about the same thing before I found your post, and the answer that came to mind outside of some of the ones people posted here was:

It feels like a breath of fresh air because we're outside the Walled Garden. We're not trapped on a platform who's soul has been crushed and wrung for every penny's worth like Reddit or Twitter. And we can see that there is a world on the Internet besides the Walled Garden and that fact is very liberating. It makes you feel like you don't have to go back.

Elegast, in What would be the best way to protect a room from unwated visitors in a low-tech fantasy world?

  • Strong locks on doors and windows.
  • Reinforce doors and windows with bars or metal.
  • Create hidden entrances or passages.
  • Use guard dogs to deter intruders.
  • Keep heavy furniture near entrances as barricades.
  • Set up alarms or noise-making devices.
  • Assign a guard or sentry to watch over the room.
  • Use traps like tripwires or pitfalls.
  • Conceal valuable items or use secret compartments.
  • Explore spells or enchantments for added security.

nom_nom, in How do pre-reddit influx lemmy members feel?

Its crazy seeing how much engagement there is on posts, I really like lemmy, even before the reddit influx, so far so good.

-hypnotoad-, in What do you feel like life will be like on earth in 100 years?
@-hypnotoad-@kbin.social avatar

I don't know why anyone thinks flying cars are remotely a good idea. Between mechanical issues and shitty drivers you'll end up with missiles crashing into people's roofs all day.

minorsecond,

Plus, think of the constant noise pollution.

Stovetop,

I’m assuming by that point, you wouldn’t have people driving anymore, it would all be automatic. Likely hooked into some sort of flight control system that would allow the vehicles to navigate around each other and avoid collisions.

Plus, look at it this way. Accidents are common now because roads restrict cars into shared paths of travel, requiring drivers to successfully avoid colliding with other people moving very close to them. If you are able to fly, you’d be able to beeline from point A to point B, distributing vehicles across a much broader area of travel. Plus, the added vertical axis means you won’t even necessarily collide if your vehicle can just move up or down around potential midair obstacles.

Cobe98,

Imagine road rage.

pieceofcrazy, in What would be the best way to protect a room from unwated visitors in a low-tech fantasy world?

Depends on the context, like what world it is and where the room is located, and so on.

I suppose it's in a building that people have access to except for that one room, and that it's a world where, while not particularly sophisticated, explosives exist, so it should at least have very strong walls. If magic exists you might want to avoid using it for this purpose as it often becomes a "because" kind of explaination, but you can use it as a tool (e.g. an obstacle that can only be overcome with powerful magic, and the magicians who are capable of such power can be counted on one hand).

If magic is a no-go, maybe it simply requires a specific kind of key to open (but maybe it's too high tech for your world?)

hungryphrog,

Key?! What kind of futuristic sci-fi do you think I'm writing?!

But seriously speaking, I think I'll make it so that you have to visit a cave with a stream flowing through it, grab a fish from the stream, maybe do some rite and then the fish burps a key out.

perviouslyiner,

Set up a monastery in the surrounding building whose religion is centered on only letting in the one person. The 'key' is a complex ritual (like happens nightly at the tower of london) with lots of phrases and movements to learn. The ceremony happens somewhere dangerous to the person requesting access.

PreciousDeclaration, in What is your opinion about Lemmy not having karma but Kbin having reputation points?
@PreciousDeclaration@lemmy.world avatar

I like that Lemmy doesn't have karma points, and hopefully it never will. I actually wish that it didn't even have the downvote button. For me, that was one of the bad things about Reddit, you could just make an innocent comment, and users would downvote you for no reason. I didn't even realize Kbin had reputation points. I'm glad that I chose Lemmy.
