Please go to next week and bring me the winning lottery numbers, then please go to next year and bring me a newspaper with the stock market records, then go ten years in the future and bring me a map of what areas are being developed for housing.
The prices for coke and pepsi products has gone up an absurd amount the last few years. Unless they drop back down a bit in price (unlikely) I’m sticking to my sodastream for all my home carbonation needs.
There’s so many cliches, but despite them all, Mountain Dew. Not because it makes me feel Xtreme while I’m playing Call of Duty and eating Doritos on my skateboard, it’s just a much better flavor.
I miss Canadian mountain dew. It was just the pop, no caffeine. Turns out caffeine doesn’t taste very good. I mean you would assume that, but it really hit home when the pop I loved all of a sudden added it. Wish they continued to offer a caffeine free version. But I know in the states the caffeine is like their whole marketing thing.
Ya know, maybe this explains why I (mostly) don’t like movies and don’t watch many. They are what you get if you take a fairly simple prompt (a short story, say) and run it through a generative AI. I’d rather just read the story directly, skipping the AI bot or Hollywood buffoonery as the case may ne.
im an american and had never heard of this book before so i had to look it up. it seems extremely impressive that someone would undertake such a breadth of american experiences through its entire history. however, i also saw a lot of criticism that matches what you described. ill give you the same advice id give anyone studying any history: no book is perfect. if you really want to know as much as you can, you’ll have to read a ton of books from a ton of different sources. plenty of people love criticizing america, its very easy to do, but most authors wont try to write with such the breadth that this guy has, due to it often including bias and poor sources. its an easy thing to do poorly. if you want a factual overview of american history, id go for a textbook. you can then deep dive into anything that interests you. if you are interested in varying perspectives, there are plenty of african american, native american, feminist, etc. books. you can look up plenty of different book lists online. just look up the author/book before you leave, as there are plenty of frauds. hope that helps! whats gotten you interested in american history?
The words “lose” and “loose” have the same vowel sound (and for some reason the extra “o” changes /z/ to /s/).
There are no other words ending in -ose that have the /u/ sound
Many words ending in -oose exist that have an /u/ sound, including the very common word, “choose”, which has the same /uz/ sound that “lose” has at the end
I never get these spellings mixed up but I can absolutely understand why someone would.
So long as it’s not spammed in the All section post after post after post, I’m okay with it being here since I can just easily scroll past it and ignore it.
AI art does not annoy me in social media because I find it fascinating and inspiring. I think AI art is a form of expression and innovation that showcases the potential and diversity of human and machine collaboration. I enjoy seeing how different people use AI art to create, share, and communicate their ideas, emotions, and visions. I also appreciate the challenges and opportunities that AI art poses for the artistic community and society at large.
AI art is not a threat or a replacement for human art, but rather a new medium and a new partner. AI art can help human artists to explore new possibilities, enhance their skills, and expand their audiences. AI art can also stimulate public interest and awareness of art, culture, and technology. AI art can be a source of beauty, joy, and wonder for everyone.
