Techranger, in History

I recognize the style from Gary Larson’s The Far Side. It turns out Kliban was an inspiration of his!

That does make a lot of sense!

chicken, in Are you a "Reply after 6 minutes person" or a "Reply after 16 hours person"?

I’m a “all my text messages are automated notifications and verification codes” kind of person

Cardinals and bluejays. They’re assholes but they’re pretty.

Ubettawerk, in Tie on the doorknob

Felipe is such an arbitrary name for a praying mantis! lol

quaddo,

He has a brother named Jesús.

shalafi, in Busted

My Filipina wife and her friends get into the tequila and it’s on. The machine is 5’ to my left and ready to go.

ConstipatedWatson, in History

I’m sorry, I don’t get it.

Can somebody explain it?

I want to understand it because I love elephants (and mammoths as a consequence, though perhaps the type of animal is not important for the joke)

brsrklf,

I’m in the same boat.

…Maybe we’re just trying too hard and it’s a Cow tools moment?

Sombyr,

The joke I think is that she seriously underestimated the task. This is the moment where she’s realizing “Well, that didn’t work” while the mammoth is still processing that a tiny woman has apparently stabbed it and will presumably kill her in a second.

HollandJim,

It’s not necessarily a woman - it’s just primitive clothing

Sombyr,

True. I was just judging by the way Gary Larson tends to draw cave women vs cave men. Obviously, since this isn’t made by Garry Larson, they could very well have intended it to be a man or even gender neutral.

yeather,

I thought it was “Woman being a pain in the ass since the dawn of man.”

p1mrx,

My best-guess interpretation: “This human is history (doomed) because they tried to attack a large animal and no longer have a weapon.”

ConstipatedWatson,

Thanks! That makes sense!

This comic is biased against people who are into cringe activities.

nifty, in Are you a "Reply after 6 minutes person" or a "Reply after 16 hours person"?
@nifty@lemmy.world avatar

To the person on the receiving end (blond character): yes, sometimes the sender (brunette character) may be innocent autist or awkward, but after a while this can start to hurt and be emotionally taxing. Take care of yourself, and make some decisions about that person you may not necessarily like! Being autistic doesn’t mean being uncaring, someone who loves or likes you will know the difference. Or if they don’t then you need to determine in some way that you’re not being emotionally abused.

CrayonRosary, (edited )

They’re the same person. They finally got “k” as a reply and had thoughts about it.

naticus,

Lol yeah they progressed to becoming elderly, with glasses and grey/white hair. Same shirt.

NounsAndWords, in "Forest God" by Sarah Andersen

Immortality makes it even more important to take skin care seriously.

My ex sent me a text asking a question, I didn’t respond when I noticed it because she would have been asleep and promptly forgot about it. In three weeks it’ll be two years.

I should wait until then and reply with a simple “Nope”.

Anticorp,

Android has a feature that will send texts at a scheduled date and time

lurch, (edited )
