Damn, I texted mine recently and she told me to get over it and grow up :/

Hurts man.

Queen___Bee,

It’s unfortunate that sometimes parents can’t be there for their little ones because of their own issues, but it doesn’t mean you aren’t deserving of compassion (be it as a child or adult). As a therapist, I hope your week goes well and remember today is a new day for something good to happen.

96VXb9ktTjFnRi,

I don’t even text mine, don’t have that type of connection with her. I just pay obligatory visits every few months, and then we talk about the news and share nothing personal.

WoahWoah,

Sometimes that’s the right mom response too though. 🥰

rustyriffs, in Black olive birthday

That actually looks really tasty. Lol

I love it that there’s a container with some extra olives too (i’m assuming)

All 5 of my cats were strays/born from strays. Plus there’s another 10 strays outside near my place that I’ve been taking care of, and sheltering from the cold.

And I’m not even a cat person. I’ve been pussy whipped by their cuteness.

Edit: Seriously, it’s impossible to say no to something like this. https://i.imgur.com/yG60ahB.jpg

Empricorn,

Okay, okay! They can have my wallet and social security number! Sheesh…

Rocketpoweredgorilla,
@Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca avatar

They’re already going a pretty good job of clearing out my bank account. God forbid they figure out how to use my I.D. or online shopping.

Zekas,

Kitty looks so soft. I want to touch

TIMMAY, in And I love him

my little orange boy was found eating sausage patties under the dumpster at work and now he is eating salmon pate on my kitchen table 🤷‍♂️

Probably the luckiest cat to ever live. Not even I let my cats on the table much less the kitchen table.

Noodle07,

I’ve never let my cat on the table but that never seemed to stop her

Not necessarily. I’m in my twenties, still asking, not planning on stopping any time soon.

I envy that relationship. My dad doesn’t even know my religious or political beliefs, let alone sharing a hobby. It’s not like we don’t talk, he just hears what he wants to hear, and he doesn’t want to hear anything where I know more than him (including my hobbies and my field)

TheSanSabaSongbird,

Well, mine is dead, so at least you have that.

nilloc,

I lost my dad in my 30s and I still want to ask him to build stuff with me. My 6 year old would have loved to too, so I’m trying to take better care of myself than my dad did, so we have a lot longer together.

Idk… If feel we need more than a picture, let’s wait for the big labs to recreate it and we will see.

I plan on doing this for my son when he is ready to save for a car.

bonnetbee,

To really help him, vote in a direction where not every single human being needs to own a car. This is just silly.

KillerTofu,

Then also move to where you don’t need a car?

  • KillerTofu,

Sure, there’s many places that have robust public transit that isn’t an urban center.

    bonnetbee,

Depends on where you live. Where I live, there are many places with good public transportation. And many many people who own two or more cars/family.

    sheogorath,

So you’re telling me that farmers working on their own ranch/farm quite far away from modern mass transit infrastructure shouldn’t have their own mode of transportation?

    IronKrill,

Yeah fuck me for saving 2 extra hours of commute EVERY DAY.

    Cold_Brew_Enema,

God damn you anti car people are everywhere. Do they make a spray to repel you people?

    alilbee,

    New car smell?

    EatYouWell,

Fuck off. All you people are doing by showing up in every post mentioning cars is turning people away from your cause.

  • EatYouWell,

Well, have fun making everyone hate the anti-car movement.

    Allero,

I’m anti-car, but I’m serioisly baffled by all of those “fuck cars” under a post that is absolutely not about car itself

I went to Olive Garden restaurant once with a friend of mine, and during dinner he made the claim that Olive Garden consumes 20% of the world’s black olive supply. I couldn’t convince him of how ludicrous this was even despite pointing out the measly two slices of black olive in our shared salad bowl.

    ickplant,
    @ickplant@lemmy.world avatar

    That’s hilarious.

    chiliedogg,

It’s a shitty garden that causes a net decrease in the world’s supply of their crop.

Just another way Olive Garden is terrible.
