GissaMittJobb, in Especially during work hours

The whole point of text messages are that they are asynchronous - you don’t actually have to answer them right away, take your time.

Anyone in need of an immediate answer should choose a synchronous mode of communication.

ipkpjersi,

It’s funny how I can recognize other programmers just from how they speak lol

ahto,

To add to that: Configure your notifications. Anything that isn’t urgent doesn’t need to vibrate or make a sound. It can just sit there until you look at your phone. Also, use do not disturb for things like work.

ininewcrow, in Relatable?

9 minutes before the alarm looks the same as two hours after the alarm

Pinklink,

I liked the old name and I challenge you to find me someone who was offended by it

cloudy1999, in Just another day of saving the bees.

This meme stung a little

xusontha,

I bee what you did there!

craftyindividual, in It means no worries!

“He who dares, swines”

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot, in I'm not your friend, guh!
Faresh, in Does it not pierce thine very heart?

I don’t think your title is grammatically correct. «very» starts with a consonant and therefore should be «Does it not pierce thy very heart?».

samus12345,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Verily, thou art correct.

GarbageShoot,

The one good thing about leddit is that someone else usually writes comments like this, meaning I don’t feel compelled to.

WarmSoda, in My bad, guys

I have to… wash hair…

dudinax, in Does it not pierce thine very heart?

Here’s something even sadder. We only need history because human lives are so short.

GreenTeaRedFlag,

I don’t see that as sad. Also, even if we lived four hundred years we’d still need to write things down because we’d eventually die.

samus12345,
@samus12345@lemmy.world avatar

Unless we were immortal and capable of remembering everything, we’d need history.

Gestrid, in A greater sacrifice than you could possibly know

This. I’ve gotta take about 5 minutes or more to mentally prep for a phone call if it’s for business. Afterwards, I’m exhausted.

railsdev, in Them Duke boys be at it again

I don’t get this: riding in the higher gears would keep your RPMs low and make it more difficult to accelerate quickly (and thus break traffic laws).

Am I missing something?

The joke is many American rural area counties have a metric shit ton of speed traps to booster local funds

bdkmshr, in Does it not pierce thine very heart?

I just want to know the lost and unrecorded meme that has so much potential

MDKAOD,

This was the peak. Every meme since this fella has been “thing good, thing bad”.
