This might be a good place to ask this. I was messing around with my Asus router setting last night and noticed that it had Ad Guard, which works similarly to PiHole with DNS. To test it I went to Reddit and saw ads still. Is Ad Guard not as effective as PiHole or Reddit ads are DOM based?
As a rule of thumb, I expect that Asus as a business only cares about adbock from two angles:
A feature to slap on the box for advertising.
A B2B feature for helping business management make workers more productive.
To the first, there’s little incentive to ever update the lists after you’ve bought the device, so it’s quickly outdated. To the second, it’s like to be far more optimized for Amazon or Newegg, then for Reddit. Between the two, I don’t generally expect them to hold a candle to pi-hole and similar software.
But you can only use them on new wounds. If one fails, for example on a finger abrasion injury (the only place I have ever had those fail) you need to replace it with a different type of dressing.
They do stick better than any of the alternatives I have tried and that provide the best healing environment
Yeah, fuck about 40% of Texas that is able to use their brain. They should’ve thought about not being born in Texas, or maybe reconsidered being too poor to move.
If I go to sleep now I’m going to wake up to a toy being shoved in my face and “play with me mummy” or a screaming kid from a nightmare. If I stay up an extra hour I get to be by myself for an extra hour.
Either way I’ll be tired.
Not much choice there, I’ll stay up and be more sleep deprived.
