Yeah my logic is this, I have many computers and a Mac, one day apple will stop updating MacOS. When that happens I will install linux on my Mac.

Bought a MacBook Air in 2012 lasted me until last year and I got a new one. The old one got Linux put in it and given to one of the kids still runs great.

I don’t really think I can say that about any other laptops I have used over the years for work.

Yep. I like computer gear. The worst gifts are some niche crap like weird USB drives that I don’t need. Slightly better are gift cards to Best buy - but really the gear I need you can’t find there.

Socks are universal. Socks are love. Give me socks, then I don’t have to spend my money on socks.

    40 year old checking in. My wife once convinced my entire family to gift me packs of the exact same brand and style of socks. She threw away all of my old and mismatched pairs.

    It’s still one of the greatest Christmas gifts I’ve ever gotten.
