So I thought The Creator was brilliant. I watched it in the cinema, thoroughly enjoyed it and was gobsmacked when I learned it's budget was only $79 million. It looks better than some films I've seen that cost three times that....
Cody Johnson put it very well when he talked about how movie executives saw that Barbie was a smart and funny movie with a good message and decided that meant they needed to make more movies about Mattel toys.
Executives don’t even like movies very much. They just want to make money and they do whatever they think will make money, not make good movies.
I’m really worried about the day my wife’s older Christian relatives find out my daughter is queer. The younger ones will probably be fine with it, but the older ones will pitch a fit. They’ll blame me because I’m a Jew.
Yeah, it’s not even worth getting into it with them. They won’t change their minds. They’re stuck in their bigoted ways. My wife’s great-aunt came to us crying before our wedding because we didn’t accept Jesus into our hearts.
I just know her grandmother and her aunt will love her no matter what and those are the two important older people in that side of the family. The rest can fuck off and she won’t care.
All the McD*nalds in my area have been upgraded with order kiosks. Regardless of all the controversy around self-checkout, and minimum wage, and automation taking our jobs, I personally love them. I can take my sweet time composing my order, I can see the full selection (such as it is), I can see pictures and prices clearly...
I’ve seen that on Lemmy many times. “I’m in Europe and we only have tap to pay and contactless pay and psychic powers to pay and it’s been that way for the last 700 years.”
I felt that way about the videos I used to make, but then people watched and commented and I had to deal with that shit and meh. Now I don’t have to worry about being creative and I like it more.
My dog would do it. She’s evil. She has murdered many small animals and then uses their corpses as toys before eating parts of them and leaving the rest to rot.
She once found a nest of baby bunnies in the yard and slurped them all up like spaghetti as we watched in horror.

Sorry I don’t have a higher resolution version of this. It’s my favorite Kliban cartoon.
