You are correct in that I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. This is what I originally said about kids
I mean getting a cat is selfish to begin with since you are getting yourself a pet after all, but as a pet owner you’re supposed to take as good care of them as possible. It’s like with kids. Once you’ve made the decision to get one you’re responsible for it and it would be silly to expect a small child to make the decisions. You’re the one who is responsible for their well-being.
You are responsible for their well being. You wouldn’t let a small child roam freely outside without supervision. That would be irresponsible. It’s the same with a cat.
If your kid never leaves the house then they will not die in a road traffic accident. I can’t put it more simply than that.
I have no idea what this has to do with the discussion or the point about kids. I wasn’t talking about never leaving the house. I talked about roaming around freely without supervision.
I just received a call from an indian microsoft technician. He informed me that my PC is sending a ton of error messages to microsoft. Most likely it has been hacked, and he would help me by remoting in and fixing the problem for me. I just wonder… Is it my PopOs or my Manjaro PC that sends all this info to microsoft?
Wermacht was fairly politically aligned. The individual soldier might’ve not been politically aligned but I wouldn’t really mind Wermacht troops being labeled Nazi troops.
ive been using kodi (xbmc was better moniker) since google killed sagetv. i recall attempting plex, but it seemed to lack some open/extensibility (its been awhile)....
For local use it’s handy that those Kodi instances share their database so watched state and crucially how far into the episode/movie you are. You can do a shared database with just Kodi but I don’t think that’s optimal. Jellyfin integrates so well and handles the database stuff much better imo so I just use that.
Where I live landlords (if they’re renting directly at least) are in a big legal responsibility over all kinds of stuff. The easier way is to rent through some company that deals with the renter.

What has been your experience with Flatpak?
I’ve been involved with Linux for a long time, and Flatpak almost seems too good to be true:...

What are some places you can spend time where you're protected from the elements and it doesn't cost anything to be there?
The classic example is libraries, but ideally I’m thinking of places you can have a conversation....
