Lifebandit666,

If it’s anything like my setup (posted in the thread) they’ll have a colder spot in the house, whereas the thermostat is in a warm part of the house.

My Nest heats to 22 degrees C but the whole house temp is a couple degrees lower than that.

When the whole house temp hits 20 the heating is switched off, but looking at the thermostat you’d think we’re heating the house to a silly temp, when in fact there’s a disparity between the thermostat temp and the temp of the whole house.

Lifebandit666,

Wrong explanations only

Lifebandit666,

Haha I’ve just come from a comment about Brexit, and I’d argue that a lot of Humans don’t think either.

Lifebandit666,

You’re acting like birds are actually real or something

Lifebandit666,

I second this statement. Most of my bulbs are IKEA. I have 4 floors and my ZigBee dongle is on the ground. If they weren’t repeaters, my Aqara motion sensors wouldn’t be working, but they do!

Lifebandit666,

I use bulbs I’ve bought from IKEA and Lidl. Because they’re ZigBee they’re local. The "Hub’ is HA because I have a ZigaZiga electrolama.com/projects/zig-a-zig-ah/ usb stick.

I use ZigBee2MQTT in HA to route commands to my bulbs (and sensors and plugs) which routes ZigBee commands through my MQTT broker which is also in HA.

The only app I use is the Home Assistant app

Lifebandit666,

I can already sing and play the guitar, not brilliantly but idgaf, so the Spotify one is really tempting. But I learned to play the Guitar from YouTube, and also how to speed solve a Rubik’s cube and pick a lock, so that one would be super useful too. In fact I could just type in “How to play X song on the guitar”

So one of those two I guess, probably the YouTube one because job interviews would be way easier after a quick scroll through the thumbnails of a quick search before going in.

Lifebandit666,

Satan wins again. At this point the Christians have to admit they chose the losing side.

I mean this God of theirs is shit, can’t even get around satellites, didn’t think humans might beat their cocks raw despite seeing it constantly in Human 1.0 (Chimps), or that they might eat fish on a Tuesday or whatever. Even Jesus was fucking a whore and he was God incarnate.

Also God invented Cancer.

Lifebandit666,

There’s too much blood in my alcohol system

It's funny how google pretends the music on YouTube isn't straight up piracy and everyone just goes along with it

Most people have extremely weird ideas of what’s considered piracy and what isn’t. Downloading a video game rom is piracy, but if you pay money to some Chinese retailer for an SD card containing the roms, that’s somehow not piracy. Exploiting the free trial on a streaming site by using prepaid visa cards is somehow not...

Give this user a cats butt for being correct.

I was a big fan of the body modification scene when I was younger. Now I’m approaching my 40 my piercings have all been removed except these ear stretches.

Do I regret them? No I still quite like em.

Lifebandit666,

I’ve done all the shifts and it fucking sucks.

We did week about shifts. That meant earlies for a week, nights, then lates. Every week you had to change your sleep pattern.

I liked earlies to nights because long weekend (finish 11am Fri start 10am Mon) and a fun “adaptation” that required me to stay up as late as I possibly could on Sunday night. I’d drink, smoke and play games with US chums (UK here) until 3 or 4am and then sleep as late as possible.

It fucking sucked but I did it for a good decade. Then managed to wangle permanent 6-2 shift.

It was a revelation.

Suddenly I had a regular sleep pattern. It was hard to train, but I managed to get a good 6 hours a night most nights. Which was good, I’ve always suffered insomnia for lots of reasons, so I managed to become one of those people that survives on minimal sleep. More sleep was amazing.

I’ve kind of got it down nowadays, thanks in no small part to some pills I was given for my restless legs. They make me drowsy, so if I take them at the right time I can force a sleep pattern, and they stop me kicking my wife up the arse when I’m asleep.

Back to your point after a trip through the weeds, I now do 2 week late shift and 2 week early shift, there’s a permanent night shift at this new place.

When I’m on the early shift I wake up at 5am on the Saturday and Sunday without fail. Once I forgot to set my alarm for work and woke up a minute before it should have gone off. Years of the early shift have honed my wake up time to a knife edge.

Sometimes on the weekend I can’t get back to sleep for various reasons, so it’s not an uncommon sight to find me gaming on my PC at 7am on a Sunday morning. I don’t want to be there, but it’s kinda nice having the peace and quiet of being a night owl with the sun up and a sleep cycle behind instead of in front of you.

Lifebandit666,

I shined a torch in my wife’s sleeping face this morning at 5am.

I didn’t mean to, I was looking for my ear tunnel, it had fallen out in the night and I didn’t want to go a day at work with a cats arsehole for an ear lobe.

I looked for my spare ones first, I really didn’t want to be that guy, I’m a night person.

Anyway I sent her this and she had to remind me I was a bastard.

She’s right.

Lifebandit666,

Was he wealthy or wise?

Lifebandit666,

I’m sure this was the story line to “The Demon Within” or whatever it was called on Netflix. Kids thought they were possessed by the devil and one of them murdered somebody, but it turned out Mum was drugging them all with sleeping aids in their dinner every night and the cumulative effects were possession by the Devil

Lifebandit666,

The whole family was adamant it was possession, then at the end one brother casually revealed his mum was drugging them throughout their childhood for a bit of peace and quiet, and that he had looked into the affects and it was hallucinations and shit. Other kids denied it all

Lifebandit666,

Yeah I may have got the name wrong lol. It was a documentary about the only murder trial in US history that tried to use possession as a defence

Lifebandit666,

The one that made me sad was the monkey that just sat with it’s face pressed into the floor because the chip had made its brain infected and it didn’t know how to deal with the pain, poor bastard.

Lifebandit666,

I’d be hacking the fucker myself to side load an ad blocker.

If you listen to the Yazidis he was sent to Hell for defying God by not bowing down to us humans, his greatest work, despite God telling Satan to never bow to anyone because he was made of God’s essence rather than us, made in his likeness.

So he went to Hell for 10 000 years until his tears put out the fires of Hell, then God forgave him. He also rewarded him for honoring his original pact with God and was given Dominion over Earth.

He took this Dominion and gave us Humans “Knowledge” like the Serpent in the Garden of Eden, only the Knowledge was of Farming.

Thing is, the Yazidis live awefully close to what is thought to be the birthplace of Farming.

When asked to describe Satan, they described him as a Peacock holding a sheaf of Wheat in it’s beak, the same image found in Gobekli Tepe, which is thought to be a shrine that taught Farming to the world.

Hail Satan.

Edit: this is just my understanding after reading an article or 2 on the subject, I’m probably wrong about loads of it, but it’s all just stories anyway so who cares?
