Muenster is good stuff. I used to love it on a steak and cheese.

I honestly think it’ll implode in a few decades. The wage gap will continue to grow, we’ll get charged more for less, and the minimum wage won’t go up much at all. Conservatives will continue to blame everything on anyone else they can (like immigrants). And I think at some point things will just… break. I’m not sure what it’ll look like, but I think it’s going to be ugly. Things will get much worse before they get better.

I’m normally a pretty upbeat, positive guy, but I’m not sure how else this could realistically go down.

Lifting weights, and exercise in general. My whole family enjoys cooking, though.

In layman’s terms, comparing it to email seems the easiest way to explain.

“It’s like a distributed Reddit with a bunch of instances that are run by different people, and they all talk to one another. Some people have an email address with gmail.com, some have yahoo.com, some have protonmail.com, etc, but they can all email one another. Lemmy instances share each others’ posts in a similar way.”

[Question] Are you cooking something other than turkey for Thanksgiving?

My wife and I rarely cook turkey for Thanksgiving. This year we’re coming Cornish hens. In previous years we’ve cooked duck, leg of lamb, and rib roast. It’s not that we don’t like turkey, but there are lots of other things that I think I’d prefer eating....

Low effort posts

Ask Lemmy is a place to ask thought provoking questions. The mods have been lenient with some of the recent posts on the basis that they must provoke thought for some people, but after seeing two posts essentially saying “what do you think of my stick?”, I believe we can raise the bar a bit on what kind of thoughts we want...

Absolutely. Touch would just be a nice extra feature to me.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon. Which is weird because it’s actually quite frustrating, but super rewarding if you win.

See this in Dubai. 70F outside and several people were bundled up.

My move was a Five Guys frequent customer card with all the holes punched out. Who would pass up a free burger?

Severance and Foundation have been great. The Morning Show is pretty good, too. But yes, TL is GOAT.

Me: I don’t need a cart

10 minutes later, dragging a basket full to the brim with my arm hanging out of its socket

Pho is amazing this time of year. I think my favorite soup of all time though is a good coconut laksa.

I don’t know if you realize this, but that’s Ryan Gosling dressed as a garage standing behind her.

I dunno about it being as much of an outlier nowadays. People seem to sit a lot for their jobs, and then glue themselves to their couch when they get home.

Getting up and walking around a bit goes a long way.

I try to tell people that a duck is following me, but they just think I’m a quack.

The ability to know exactly the right thing to say at any given time. Because I often do the opposite right now.

Love this one. Also the alternate version - “Be the person your dog thinks you are.”
